Once again.
This is an extremely glassy build - so of course it’s far from comfortable and requires fishing
But since top ladder clears using Crimson’s-CoE-Mortick build with just 66% DR (and noted in this Guide) - why not to use more powerful (+ 15%) one with a similar 62% DR??
Time will tell…
And it doesn’t have to be used just for pushing - perhaps the best option are speed XP runs (GR110+)
As for the Ground Stomp (Wrenching Smash) over Spear - for me it groups just as well. Yes, Spear has better potential, but because I don’t have much time to play now - I prefer the one-button lazy casual style builds - btw it’s good enough for me to clear GR128 in13:38 (NS) already without any fishing with my pretty young 4k paralvl
(Moreover, unlike Spear, GStomp’s a resource generator, that’s especially useful in FnR context)
I agree completely, it’s painful to watch and even more painful to play especially on HC wondering if when you un-pause the game you’ll turn up dead. This entire video is really case in point why they should allow for a longer PTR period so folks can actually test how thing will be implemented.
Some folks did try to warn them but with only a week duration there wasn’t enough time for too many people to realize the implications of the nature of the event and the impact it would have on game play.
Just so we’re clear, on paper you’re trading dealing 15% more damage for taking 28% more damage.
Now we’re talking. I agree with you totally that this could be a good setup for speeds, and especially for groups, where supports may be protecting you, so you don’t need as much toughness, and somebody else may be doing the grouping (or grouping is less relevant, since you’re killing everything fast), so Spear is unnecessary. Hell, in this scenario you might as well drop Stomp for TS:Falter or Overpower: Killing Spree.
Don’t forget that when using BK swords you get an extra passive over ambos/doom and your obsidian procs a lot more. I’d bet with enough cooldown you can even use 4 damage passives with BK.
Question about rolls on gear. Im having a hard time getting good rolls on a FoT at the moment i have my current one rolled to 20% physical damage. But with how rend damage is calculated would i be better of rolling that to CHD?
Due to how DIBS is calculated, the overall damage difference between Berserker Rage, and Brawler is about 1.7%(dependent on your particular gear.) Running Brawler is about a 7.2% overall damage increase(dependent on gear), and running Berserker Rage is a 9.8% overall damage increase(dependent on gear.) The difference is nowhere near substantial, but the lack of something to throw into that slot for extra damage is the reason to even run them.
You just need to add the DIBS values together, since DIBS are additive; and the sum of DIBS is multiplicative with other buffs for rend, like 1+CC*CD and Ruthless.
In my case with Whirlrend… it’s 1 + Rend%OnShoulders + Rend%OnChest + Taeguk% + BattleRage10% + Brawler? + Berserker Rage? e.g. One of my current gear sets with Ambo/Doombringer has 10% shoulders + 15% chest + 65.2% Taeguklvl113 + 10% BR + 100% since it’s enhancing other damage = 2.02x total multiplicative bonus, adding Brawler would turn this into 2.22x, and adding Berserker Rage would turn this into 2.27x. With this particular set of gear, the difference is 2.3% between them, and +9.1% Brawler, +12.4% Berserker Rage overall damage.
Finally decided to add ancient spear to my bar. Im glad i did. Took a little while to get used to, still not quite used to it. But it did make rifts easier. Grouping is so good now Haha its great
Further to my earlier post, I (just) managed a 125 running WW5/CC with IBs, COE and HF amulet. That somewhat arbitrary round number is also pretty much my ceiling absent a good flavor of time, primal weapons etc dropping, or fishing for a perfect rift (an activity of which I am not enamoured).
Will continue experimenting with different weapon and build variations - I have still been struggling to get Ambo/Doombringer to clear a comparable levels although the IP/WOTB cooldowns are fine with Boon.
