[Guide] Zodiac Rend (Season 20)

Trying to figure out if the explosion from bloodbath when you kill something counts.
Typically I use Marauder or STP.

it spreads rend for double dmg due to lamentation

It’s very useful. If I have a pack around me it basically blows up when stuff starts dying.

It’s also great for speed running as you don’t have to go back to kill stuff. Rend will apply itself to the whole group you pass over and takes care of everything

Hard Cast Rend in Phys Phase of CoE and you will see the Extra damage.

i have start using hard cast with 138% area dmg . but i always stop and cast rend two times. do i need hard cast reng two times to get two stacks or just one cast and other stack comes from whirlwind and still counting as hard cast ?

As soon as you start WWing it overwrites your HC Rend and turns off your AD. If you want to be applying AD via Rend, you basically need to be casting it as often as possible, for up to 3 seconds at a time.

I don’t really recommend this playstyle, without healing from WW you will probably die. But if you do give it a go, you’re looking to HC Rend as much as you possibly can.

AD has a 20% to proc per Rend tick, 2 HC is 10 ticks.

Is that a guaranteed AD proc with 2 HC or is my math off?

Your math is off. If you have a 20% chance of something happening, you have an 80% chance of it not happening. If you’re checking for that thing (an AD proc) happening 10 times, the odds of it not happening at all in those 10 times would be 0.8 ^ 10, or .107, aka a 10.7% chance of it not happening, aka an 89.3% chance of it happening.

Ok thanks.

Those are some pretty good chances.

I theorize that a total of 2 seconds (give or take) should be enough. 1 second to for 2 HC, 1 more second of 2 HC to allow enough time for an AD proc and sustain while you wait. That would equate to 2 second.

Hey, worth keeping double bk’s with cdr on them or taking +10% damage on each ?

I have 62.21%cdr with and 53.37%cdr with damage roll on weapons.

Using crimson obviously.

What is the gain ? Do i lose much tankyness ? For what damage ?

Well, I’m not sure if you’re looking to test something or just thinking of playing the game generally, but keep in mind that there’s nothing special about 1 AD proc. I mean, in 10 chances to proc AD, you could get 10 AD procs, or you could get zero. As the number of chances gets larger and larger, the number of actual procs you might get will head towards 20% of your total damage dealing instances.

I wouldn’t worry too much about it: just throw together a bit of HC Rending, then a bit of WWing, and you should be fine.

What’s the full list of stats on them?

first one :
2761 dps
995 strength
5 Attack speed
10% cdr
11257 life/kill
+10 fury

Second one :
2524 dps
878 strength
933 life
10% cdr
+11 fury
freeze on hit

Idk about that. HC is 2 stacks of Rend damage over a 12 yard radius and then multiplying those 2 stacks by 138% AD over a 20 yard radius, that will then engulf same 12 yard radius. There’s a lot damage happening there.

At an 87% chance, I think it well worth it, but we’ll see.

On the first, roll 5% as to 10% dmg. On the 2nd, roll 933 vit to 10% dmg.

I don’t think you’re following me… I’m not saying “AD won’t do much damage”, I’m saying that the more you HC Rend, the more AD procs you’ll get… you just don’t really need to worry about whether that’s one AD proc, or two, or ten. The probability is 20% for each tick of HC Rend, so the way to maximize your AD procs is just to HC Rend as much as possible.

I already rolled on theses weapons.
Sorry i was not precise.

I rerolled 10%cdr on each weapon ( that’s why i don’t know what to roll , keep cdr or get 10% damage on each).

Oh, ok. I’d say keep the cdr.

The only dilemma with this is that you can only HC twice per second. After the first dual cast, you’ll need to WW to bring Taeguk stacks up again (which should be fairly quickly). You could keep HCing without Taeguk, I just don’t know which would be the greater gimping.
