From the Barb Community: DO NOT NERF REND

So perhaps today we will get a blue response. It’s time…

I tested Rend on PTR and can almost assure you that the real reason behind this nerf is not the numbers, but the lag this skill provokes.
When I was partying with friends we must quit all our paragon from area damage otherwise game turned unplayable. So this skill sums with other with high damage but nerfed due to server stability, I guess, just like firebats

Don’t see how nerfing the belt would make a difference if there was lag. The belt increased rends damage. With or without extra damage it still deals its damage over one second. Either way there would still be lag with ad would there not? The only thing I can think of that would create lag would be crazy density and monsters not dying right away. I’m no expert and could be completely wrong but still either way I think that’s a poor excuse to nerf Barbarian.

Now that’s a good one: Rend makes the server lag, right? That’s why nerfing the belt. What’s the next excuse?

I am still waiting for a response of the community manager for this matter or a developer… Just to let us know whats going on with that nerf.
Not to say that the other barb items that got buffed in the PTR, didnt receive a buff in the blizzcon demo.

There is no lag with rend with ambos since it occurs over 1 second nor do you need any area damage for it since auto applied rend isn’t affected by area damage.

Also they didn’t nerf the skill itself just the total damage output so IFFFF there was lag it would still be the same output.

Plot twist: Blizzard’s trainee changed lamentation the last minute before Blizzcon, just to test, saw it was trash and when was about to revert it back to 200% they yelled at him to hurry up for the event and he didn’t make it, so we are all pulling our hairs off for nothing, the buff is on

He is joking there.

He just informed us guys. He just miscalled as slight nerf.

Nerf came from trolls. Remember the real enemy. Not the messenger.

That would be hilarious.

Blizzard,
This topic is running at over 200 posts per day, and on top of that, the original post has 259 likes. This is serious recognition from your players and there are continuous valid points on why this nerf should not take place. You posted before that you listen to us, yet, you have not even posted in here, nor is there any recognition of the issue at hand. Keeping this as it was first designed will not have any negative impact on the game nor will it be overpowered, but instead it will put a class on par which never had a top tier build. WHY are you taking that away? PLEASE reconsider this and post your intentions. If you put this on the shelf, then there would be too many posts to read, and the concerns from your players will not be heard or acknowledged, which contradicts your statement earlier that you listen to us. Listen to us NOW, as there have been a lot of nerfs in the past, but none that have upset the players as this, mostly as there is no reason for it.

Same here. EU player, mostly DH, but was eager to play barb next season.
But a carrot on a stick taken away after being hyped feels more cruel than nothing promissed. No belt bonus = quit

Same for me. Was barb main for a long time, but since barb got worse and worse i only played dh since and quit at some point. About 1.5 years ago. Now i came back because i heard about barb being actually decent again. I was really hyped for the next season. But if they take that away again, i am out.

Developers, we really need a response to this.

Barb max now looks like it will be around 135 if everything falls into place.

Where as WD, Necro, DH, Wiz, and Sader will likely be at 140 or higher, with Sader being the only exception.

Why are Monk’s and Barbs being left in the dust (and possibly Sader)? Especially considering that all Barb needs is another 100-150% modifier to a main damage source, ala 100-150% rend damage added back to lamentation!

We need a response to this Blizzard, NO we deserve a response to this!

Wanted to add the mean of clears between 11-20 for each class on non-season to account for the anomaly as well as not get stuck in the area where people are not as dedicated, here are the results.

|Barb| 129.00 |
|DH| 133.80 |
|Monk| 130.10 |
|WD| 135.20 |
|Wiz| 140.10 |
|Crusader| 134.70 |
|Necro| 135.70|

Seeing that Wiz and Necro are getting a nerf, I think it is pretty clear that Barb and Monk need some love. Necro nerf should affect group play way more than solo pushing, I would expect them to remain in a similar spot.

You’re off-synced bro, we’re now looking at 300%+ to be more in alignment of current game cycle

Begging for a blue response here please… I know you’ve all just gotten settled in coming back from blizzcon but a dev has had to see this or heard of it by now. None of us want to be kept in the dark and blind sided when patch finally hits. We would all really love a response here on the matter and as you can see there are quite a few of us that are very concerned regarding this. Please if you could take the time to shed some light on the matter we would all be very grateful. Hoping its good news but if its not I really hope there some good logic behind the nerf. Judging by the figures people have come up with I just can’t see how a nerf could be warranted especially considering you’ve acknowledged that we have been in need of some love for quite sometime. So with that said why propose a change that would bring us on par with some of the other top existing builds just to take it away and bring us back to where we were again. You devs beyond owe us an explanation on whats happening here and we all sincerely hope there’s some serious thought put into it. A massive amount of the d3 fan base is going to be extremely upset if you don’t because then it just looks like you guys really just don’t care. :worried:

The only possible logic is they are buffing the 6 pc wastes. The numbers don’t lie: if they nerf Lamentation wastes will be meh.
