When I was replying to some message on EU forum I noticed that I cannot paste an URL into the reply message window. I thought it was some kind of smart protection against URL pasting, but then I copied some plaintext without any URL pattern and still could not paste it in the message window. I mean - Ctrl+V does not work. Right-click on the message window shows a popup menu with common text editing options, like Copy, Paste etc - and I can see that the “Paste” command is available, but does nothing. Heck, I even copied part of the reply text from that very reply window and still cannot paste it back, but guess what - I can paste it to every other text window on this forum - the “topic” part of the message window, the search box of the forum, even the search box for “optional tags”.
I tried three browsers (Chrome, Firefox and Edge), all with the same result.
Anyone else having this issue?

Yeah, I’ve noticed this too… though, only ever tried pasting URLs.

2. Testing: Pasting URL (My main D3 Character, URL only)
3. Testing: Pasting Image URL (I’m Trust Level 3)
Here is the syntax I used for each of the tests above:

I used Ctrl+V to paste each of the URLs. (Text, D3 Armory Profile and image). I don’t seem to be having an issue pasting in this forum. I’m in Firefox 145.0.2 64-bit on a desktop PC running Windows 10 Professional 64-bit.
When pasting URLs you must be Trust Level 3. I believe if it’s Blizzard or YouTube URLs, you can post them at Trust Level 2. Otherwise, you must use Preformatted Text.

Look at the toolbar in the top of the posting window and choose the M with a down arrow.

Yeah, not long ago the forum software was updated, which affected some changes. By default, the Reply Editor was set to Rich Text mode.
With the Reply Window open, click the button to the far left of the Toolbar to switch to Markdown mode. (As @Jazz suggested).
You can also use Ctrl-M.

Posting URL requires TL3, that i know, but I was trying to paste it (knowing that I’d need to enclose it in formatted text).
Anyway, the CTRL+M did the trick. I just wonder why pasting does not work in “rich edit mode”.

It’s not intentional. The web team is aware though.
