Sepultura disbanded after releasing “Arise”. There were no albums released afterwards, nope.
I went to high school with those guys lol
What? They are still going, without Max.
They made tons of amazing albums after Arise.
One of my fav bands of all time!
Love this haha!

For many there are only 2 good albums, Roots and Chaos AD.
For D2, back in the day, I had Biotechgodzilla as a Barbarian name. Too bad names after D2 are 12 letters and not 15. I have wanted to use that name again, but cant unless I take out 3 letters, that wouldn’t be the same.
Those were excellent albums.
My personal dav was beneath the remains 1989.
Inner self is an epic epic song.

Well done, I was not expecting this to be funny at all but I could almost not keep myself from laughing in the office while imagining a Max Cavalera Barbarian shouting into the sky as the loot drops.
It’s kind of funny with Sepultura for me, they are one of those bands that I know are great but just never got into even though I listened to them a bit here and there. But when I was 8 years old my older cousin got some CD’s, he got store credit for the incredibly buggy copy of Ultima he bought so didn’t care much what he got with it. He got some early 90’s rave mix album and then one other and I remember really liking it and telling one of the kids afterwards about a swear word I never heard before from this cool CD I listened to over the holidays. Like 10 years later he gave me a box of his old stuff with the Playstation we used to play on and some games and old CD’s and I saw the copy of Roots and finally connected the dots of this voice and sound I remember quite distinctly and Max’s vocals which I heard since then.
So went from thinking I was almost a teenager when I first listened to metal to 8 year old me being introduced to metal through Sepultura.

I work from home, thanks to Covid (I know it’s no longer a thing, but I didn’t lose my home work), so I actually did that. I could get away with it because my neighbors were all at work. Bwahahahahahahahahaha.
However, I did it ala Chris Barnes, aka The Cookie Monster, (original Cannibal Corpse for those that don’t know) tho. Not Sepultura by any means, I know, still a lot of fun. Of course, after that, slipping in my Roots cd (YES I still have cds lol) and blasting Roots Bloody Roots.
On a side note, I did something similar in WoW way back in the day. On my first 60, I did Woot Bloody Woot. Yeah, I have been listening to good ol’ Sepultura for many years. Easily in my top 5 favorite bands, only second (by an extremely close margin) to Pantera.
- Pantera 2. Sepultura 3. King Diamond/Mercyful Fate 4. Devildriver 5. Overkill
Edit.
Thanks to all the \m/etalheads out there that posted replies, yall made my day.
Just remember \mm/ = too much metal for one hand
Edit.
For those wondering where I rank Cannibal Corpse, #6. They take the first spot of the next 5. With Testament at 7, Megadeth (Yes over Metallica) at 8, Slayer at 9 (almost shares #8), and Amon Amarth (Gotta love that JRR Tolkien band name) capping it at #10.
Sepultura are so Great, I especially like the album “Beneath The Remains”.
I was so proud to play before them at a Norwegian festival i 2019, it was the 20th aniversary-show for my band, and having Sepultura play afterwards really made my day.

I agree, 100%, so great. I am thankful, as a metalhead, for their existence. I even count the albums after Max. Not the same, but still Sepultura. Beneath The Remains and Morbid Visions are very guilty pleasures. Not too many so-called fans know about them. I had them on cassette tape back in the day. So good. But still, I like Roots the best.
WOW! That would make my life forever. That us friggen awesome. Grats man. That’s an experience you will never forget.
Edit.
I have some Soulfly (one song was in Dee Snider’s Strangeland) and Cavalera Conspiracy too. Not the same as when he was in Sepultura, but still good.

I like stuff no one has heard of before. Try not to recycle too much old music. I love the sound

With that #6 ranking and having played wow, did you ever go and see Gorge the Corpsegrinder?
Apache222
I was like that for a short period of time. I sought out different metal bands that no one had heard of. I even signed up for monthly subscriptions to record companies for sample cds and magazines. I stumbled upon a few really good ones too. But I always gravitate back to the tried and true, same reason why I keep playing D3.

Nope. He’s a fan of the Horde like me too. I started and ended retail WoW with the Horde. I cheered when I saw hid NPC. YES!!! Never saw Cannibal Corpse, but I did see Archenemy (with Angelea of course) open for Morbid Angel in San Diego. Neither are in my top 10, still good bands imo.
Youtube music is really good – it’s part of a premium YT sub. I’ve tried a lot of the “music” companies but Google has such a massive library and the AI picks really gets me. So it’s easy to find new stuff every day.
I listen to albums I don’t have on youtube. I don’t mind listening to free music since I have already spent thousands and I am sure I’ll spend thousands more before I die.
I think my favourite metal band is Death from Florida.

Anyone ever listen to Austrian Death Machine?
Imagine a death metal band “as I lay Dying” and have them make songs about Arnold Schwarzenegger movies! Its pretty epic.

Never heard of them, I’ll have look them up and give them a listen. Lately I have been listening to Ancient Wisdom and Bal Sagoth tho. Great music for playing the Barbarian.
