Find Diablo 3 impossible to play

I put this under general discussion because I am not wasting my time to fix a problem that historically cannot be fixed due to the fact Blizzards servers cannot be fixed to keep up with the lag issue. Seeing how this is a Holiday weekend I should have seen this coming. It might work if I lowered my settings below torment setting but why should I do that? I worked hard to get there. Anyway, it’s my humble opinion that it’s time for Blizzard to let go of this old but still fun to play game and let us run it without the servers. It time for them to let go of their control. In my case I actually understand why they do it but if you can’t keep up then its time to let go. I hope I am not wearing out an over discussed subject, but I am sort of unhappy right now.

It works just fine on console. But alas, anything they do for this game must follow the current business model… nickel/dime people. Otherwise, they literally do not care what anyone thinks.

Not sure what your problem is OP. Maybe if you give us some details we can help? The game runs fine for me.

Some people experience weird lag. They have higher end equipment but it still happens. Usually ends up being an ISP problem.

Lag maybe, but OP mentioned impossible to play so if he could provide some more info maybe we could help?

Every time somebody has Lag it is always the Server. I have been play the game over 13 yrs. Yes I do have some lag here and there. But 99% of the time I don’t get any lag.

Is the OP running it on WiFi? 99% of the time when you are getting lag it is more likely to be the internet than the server.

I run the game some times on a older Laptop with no video card and yes I’ll see a little lag. I play the game on two servers. USA and EU and I don’t get any lag.

I hear this all the time when playing in a public game. People are getting lag and I’m playing with no problems.

One thing people can do is if the computer supports 2.4, 5.0 or 6.0 GHZ on the WiFi. Always bump it up to the highest one. It will always be set by default 2.4 GHZ.

I truly appreciate your offers to help but I have been down this path before. Seeing how I am reading a true interest in trying to help I will explain what is impossible.

As soon as I run into a huge swarm of bad guys my weapon/weapons stop firing and if I don’t get out of the crowd, they will kill me. My weapon fire almost slows down to a complete stop. My character is frozen in place or if he/she due move then its very, very slow. Like I said impossible to play. This happens when we are in a holiday weekend or during nighttime at peak hours. Otherwise, game play is fine. I have tried all the tricks and have my visuals lowered and the sound turned all the way down as low as it will go. If I take the game out of torment 4 thru 6 and set it lower, well below torment, it will play better because the bad guy count is way down. Simply put the servers are not keeping up.

Does your PC or platform have a graphics accelerator card? What you described was what I experienced with my Win 10 computer I bought in 2016. Although the PC had a 3 gig processor, that was my experience before I added a graphics accelerator card.

I play on Switch 2 and I’m either playing docked on Ethernet or portable about 10’ from an access point. The only time I ever get any lag, conveniently is on HC.

I don’t see any Seasonal Characters for you (on PC). And none of your Characters have Cube Powers equipped.

You wouldn’t happen to be referring to either of these Characters, would you?

  • Since you’re not playing Seasonal Characters, you do not have the Altar’s Crowd Control Immunity.
  • You also do not have the Altar’s Passability.
  • Your Demon Hunter does not have Dawn cubed. You cannot keep Vengeance up 100% of the time.
  • Your Crusader is not using the Skill, Akarat’s Champion.
  • And, most important of all:

Read the Legendary Power of your STONE GAUNTLETS!

(On both, your Demon Hunter and your Crusader)

Getting hit increases your armor by 50%, but reduces your movement speed by 15% and attack speed by 20%. This effect stacks up to 5 times.

Edit: Just in case you’re not good with math:

  • 15% x 5 = 75% Reduced Movement Speed.
  • 20% x 5 = 100% Reduced Attack Speed.

Edit: I’ve noticed that @OliveLion has updated TheRookie Demon Hunter so she no longer has the Stone Gauntlets equipped. Their Crusader, SirKnight, still does, as of this edit.

I was going to mention Stone Gauntlets but it seems Perusoe beat me to it. Nowadays I have seen lots of these threads; perfectly describing what’s happening but blames lag each time despite it has nothing to do with it. Is it feigning ignorance or people really assume things on a decade old game? Thread got ten replies though.

ps. Download more RAM.

The problem here is the OP hasn’t said anything about the computer or laptop that is being use? That is one of the big problem with people.

They come here and say they having these problems. But never say what they are using to play the game WITH. But want somebody to help fix their problem.

I can play this on almost everything out there from old computers to old laptops. I have a 10yr laptop that I play it on here and there. It has no video card and had a WiFi card that only supported 2.4 GHZ. With basically 15 to 20 MBs download speed and play basically fine.

Till he says what specs the computer or laptop have. Plus how he is connected to the internet. We really can’t help them.

Why is it that some people can only talk about themselves in discussions here (me, me, me, myself and I) and don’t seem to read (or understand) what’s been written in other comments?

OP’s problem has been solved… (so far that I can tell).

It is not Blizzard for your Lag issue. I is your ISP call them see if they can resolve the issue.

If the problem is due to what Perusoe pointed out, OP will want ice climber boots equipped.

The complaint does seem odd if the gloves are the real problem. One can’t blame Blizzard or the servers for user error.

Next stone gauntlents in line. Nice.

But I completely aggree with meaning about letting go

It’s time for Microsoft to put one of their quantum computers into good use, as a D3 server. That would probably be smooth.
