Error 1016, 1 All SEASON

me too, sucks. Blizz tells me it’s a connection problem on my end

Same issue here. Started this morning when I got home from work. I can get in for around 5 minutes and get 1016. I can actually still play behind the error code popup, but can’t pick anything up, etc. Click ok and it goes to the login screen asking for password.

What i’ve tried that hasn’t worked:

-disabling Iv6 (sp?)
-disabling antivirus
-changing compatibility mode of diablo
-resetting my ip

You’re not alone in this, happening to me since just before season start with new patch, never had issue before, nothing helps, sometimes it disconnects as soon as the game boots, sometimes a few mins in, sometimes I get a couple hours if I’m lucky, seems to be worse during peak hours.

I am having the same issue here. 1016. It only affects me after 5pm MDT. It is stupid. I can play in the morning but not when I get home after work. It started with the start of this new season on Friday. It is not my internet as every other device in the house is fine. It only happens when I try to play D3. I don’t understand why Blizzard thinks it is our ISP’s when everything else works fine. We have 5 computers, 2 PS4’s, 2 iPads, and multiple phones. It only happens with D3.

Mine is error 3006, don’t have this issue until this season 22. I did everything I can, unfortunately nothing happens, it pisses me off already. My server/region is America, but when I tried the other region, there’s no problem at all. So I assumed that the problem is the server itself.

I am having the same issue too. It happens anytime. Gave me error 1 and 1016

1016 here as well. It is severe enough, that I am unable to finish rifts most of the time, doing bounties is completely out of question. Like in many cases, I had never had this issue before season 22.

Hey there,

Lets go ahead and grab a winMTR so we can further investigate the problem. Here are the instructions:

  1. Download the tool from this page
  2. Enter the game IP into the “host” field. The IP address for our games are listed on the winMTR instructions page
  3. Start the test and play the affected game for at least 15 minutes. Ensure the problem happens while the winMTR tool is running.
  4. After recording the problem data, click “export text” and save the winMTR file in an easy to find location.
  5. Once you have that made, open the file. You’ll need to copy and paste the contents of the Text document into the post, and put four Tilde (~) marks above the winMTR. It’ll look like this:

If you have issues pasting here, please use Pastebin and post the link (ex: Pastebin (dot) com/1 23456).

So hilarious that I have seen this same blue post on like 5 other threads in regards to problems with HUNDREDS of players experiencing ERROR 1016…and yet I’ve not seen a single reply after a winMTR test is posted. Seems like y’all are just biding time and covering up a much larger issue. Wasting your customers time by telling them it’s an issue with their ISP or their connection is unstable, and then having them download a 3rd party tool and use it run a test on their computer / game, and then refusing any follow-up communication, is really a dead giveaway of some fishy business. I’ve invested THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of dollars into Blizzard Ent. Games…as have countless others…We deserve better service, better responses and better communication. Hands down a huge disappointment to see the same automated responses over and over and over…The higher upper up’s in the company have seriously lost their drive and commitment to their community.

yep i get the same as you error 1016 all the time plus the cut outs of the game anytime i think this is the worst patch ever

Here’s one for you…I’ve tried 9 times to open at ticket about this problem with error 1016 and i’ve gotten an error after clicking submit every time. GO FIGURE RIGHT??? I’m telling you, Blizzard is having some nasty problems and they’re trying to pretend that they aren’t and play us all for ignorant fools. They need to fix their shyt real quick…I’ve got around 900 people or so that I personally know that play this game (2 accounts / 2 clans) They don’t wanna continue scapegoating and beating around the bush, every single one of my people in D3 are having this problem and we are all on the brink of quitting.
