Diablo IV Quarterly Update - Q3 August 2022

It covered topics that are really important but not that interesting.

Most important thing is that there are no bad surprises (as I expected).

I wanted to hear more about new and improved anti cheat approach because with current anti cheat policy implementation there will be no good “live service” for Diablo 4.

Ugh… But… What about trading?

I like that a lot.

This would mean we would be able to switch off transmogs of other players. Good to know.

Overall nice update, nothing really new since the monetization information from leaks. It’s sad they all say no P2W while knowing about RMT.

Yes. But I never wanted to be like most Diablo 3 players. And I never want to be average in anything I do. There are not many things I am willing to spend 10K+ hours on.

I want game to be good for both of us. Not sure if they are going to be able to design it that way. If they are going to design the game around the people that are around 3K paragon in Diablo 3 than that game will not be for me probably.

At this point I’m guessing either 2 things:

  • Runes are counted as gems for D4, and such can be crafted and such along with other gem types

Or

  • Runes no longer exist.

I liked everything that I have read.
Missed:

  • Information on the Closed Beta / Open Beta
  • Clarification for soloplayers, that everything in the game is soloable and that there are private sessions (!)

o no please, seasons you lose your character again? I expected something like the seasons of destiiny 2 , more seasons of diablo 3 where you are repeatedly wasting time with old things to finally enjoy the new ones just justify the lack of game content, not to mention that it is very annoying, and lack of respect for who is dedicated to conquering something and then losing because he is standing there, forgotten in a game mode that no one plays anymore because most will only want to play season and that’s all that matters in the game, come back with this generic mechanic where you always lose your character it’s not a new generation game, it’s just another diablo remaster, i’m out of those lazy and old generation mechanics, sorry but i didn’t stop in time.

Season information is wildly interesting. Just also awful all around.

One more thing about this… dont just add new legendaries and uniques… Add new normal affixes. That can do much more for your itemization than some new uniques.
Sadly, the statement above only makes me worry that we are back to D3 itemization where only legendary/unique affixes matter.

This game looks everything but like an Open world

I also hope that non-season players get to enjoy when new content drops if they want to enjoy it in their own time and not feel like they are on a treadmill competing in a race every 3 months. I hope non-season play is just as fun and there’s things like end game pvp to keep non-season, more immersive rpg players happy who want to spend years perfecting just a few characters hunting down items, and feeling immersed in the rpg world and pvp fights.

Somewhat disappointing blog I think, just all about the money side of things. No game systems things at all. Oh well…

I’ll just wait and see what this game looks like when released and decide after careful consideration.

Why am I so glum, IDK, just have a bad feeling about how it looks and plays. I really hope I’m wrong too.

you can make a season with new builds, items and content, starting from zero power without losing your character, I hate the fact that after several years and a new game keep pushing this old and recycled mechanics, I want something that is of value to the hours I spent in the game, I don’t want to have to be a new “person” every season like I’ve never been to hell, I want to be someone with a past and a future to tread, and don’t miss the season’s news, I I don’t know how to explain exactly what I feel and what I want you to understand, I just know that I love the diablo franchise but I don’t want another diablo 2 another diablo 3, well, just more “beautiful”, you should already know that graphics are not everything , that complex mechanics, many of these are forgotten after some time of gameplay, mainly because of the meta, and that soon lose much of the value given in the complex development, they could have focused better on the season system, they lost a lot of time on things s that could be added later in the game, I don’t want to see another game where they play a week and then it gets abandoned, that’s what will happen if they don’t change, and I’m tired of it in diablo3, why more of this?? I’m really really sad and disappointed about this, I better get away from here.

We’ll also be testing features that … allow characters on the eternal realm to contribute to seasonal progress.

Not sure how that is going to work.

Yeah, I’m with you. After the reaction to Immortal, it stands to reason they needed to make official no pay to win.
