Diablo IV Quarterly Update - Q2 June 2021

Bearing in mind that you already know how things turn out…

…how come you’re wrong so often on the forums about things that are, for you, past events and therefore have known outcomes?

This is pure speculation. Diablo 4 has been in development since 2016 (this is a fact). Claiming the game is not in adequate playable state is laughable and shows how little you understand on the topic. D2R is in worse state, but it has to come before DI and D4 in order Blizzard to bank most money.

Where?

Well, for example, are you still sticking to Cyberpunk being a deadline for D4?

CPO, yes, it will be a great game when it releases.

Classic Skelos. Leave it be. You can’t convince a mad man that hes not a horse, when he already decided that he is. Delusional people will stay that way, they won’t accept that they could be wrong.

Diablo 4 developers themselves have said that D4 is not releasing any time soon. That is not speculation. I am just finding it easy to believe them.

As explained above, your fact means very little because there is a big difference between early conceptual design phase, and the full active development stage with more developers.

In any case, the start date of development cannot be used as an indicator for when the game will actually be released. There are too many examples of delayed, rebooted, and cancelled games.

This alone is a ridiculous statement which you have made up yourself.

D2:R would not be going to public beta next month if it were in a worse state than D4.

If D4 were anywhere near ready for release, we would not be even talking about D2:R or Immortal right now.

If there is purpose for D2:R and Immortal releasing later this year, it is to keep Diablo players busy the next few years as we wait for D4.

you know you are literally just talking to a meme right now do you?

A game can go to alpha/beta in whatever state. There aren’t law regulations for that. A company can release a game in whatever state. You insisting D2R is in a better state than D4 is not only laughable, but ambitiously delusional since the game would still have a lot of bugs on its release.

ROFL, D2R keeping the players busy. Oh, man, the majority of D2R players have no idea what they engage in. D2R is just a quick money grab before D4 that the majority of its buyers would play for a few weeks. It’s an outdated game with less features than any other modern aRPG. What worked in 2000 won’t work in 2020. D2R team has to update the game to match the modern aRPGs or it will remain a meme game.

D2 is still one of the best arpgs despite being outdated
because all these other modern arpgs seem to miss the point

Actually there are definitions what Alpha and Beta state of a software means. That many games are released as Alpha or Beta unfortunately has nothing to do with a real software Alpha or Beta. It’s just marketing BS. E.g. many game “Betas” today are actually just demos.

I’m very happy with D2R. I played D2 for years since it launched and can’t wait to play it again with modern graphics in 4K. I don’t know about the “majority” of its buyers but neither do you.

This does not mean that they will. The developers have said that D4 is not coming out anytime soon.

I think an outsider claiming to know better than the developers would be rightly called delusional.

The facts are that one of these games is going to public beta next month, and one of them is not.

I can play D2 today and tell you exactly in what state it is today. The next month I can play D2:R.

You don’t have access to any of the different development builds of D4. My local shopkeeper is equally qualified to comment on D4 release schedule as you are.

Actually we know exactly what we are getting, because we have the base game already.

It is Diablo 2 with better graphics, new cinematics, and some quality of life improvements.

That’s exactly what we wanted.

D2 has more bots than real players, Lolli. I like D2 too and it can be improved to match current modern aRPGs, but Blizzard aren’t doing this. They want the quick cash and no long term commitment with D2R.

That’s my point - whoever claims a game in Beta is more ready than a game in Alpha is just scratching his tongue.

We’ll see very soon. I’d say D2R player base will drop significantly after just a month.

Who? You and your local shopkeeper KEKW?

Who needs long term commitment when the game is good enough to last 20 years with no active development team.

It’s a meme game as of 2021, wake up. If they kill all bots in D2 tomorrow and you log-in you’d have to wait hours for someone to join your game. D2R without updates would be a game on life support.

You should not tell other people what they can and cannot enjoy.

This is geting interesting.
:popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:

You mean we should let those who bot do it? Go at some other forums to troll.

This is comedy gold

Not that it matters since Cyberpunk is going to kill D4 before release. Any day now…

(edit, I was slow, Meteorblade already went down the obvious road)

Which is what this is truly about. Your dislike for D2R (which is fine, you can dislike whatever you want).

Maybe. And so what. Getting 1 month of playtime out of game is not bad. Most games are like that.
D2R is luckily not a “games as a service” disaster.

Now, I would generally say that an A-RPG lasting a month is bad, as they are designed for replayability. But the big difference for D2R is that the primary customers already did play it for years, so it does not compare.

Skelos I think you have different expectations of D2R. It will not be the next 10 year Diablo for sure. Blizzard probably wants D4 to be that. D2R is for the old time fans, like many of us here in the forums. And that’s great. I’m not sure why this is a problem for you?

+1

No it isn’t - they have totally hijacked the thread.

Sorry to be a naysayer but this thread is made to give feedback to Blizzard on the 4th quarter blog. This has totally buried this thread. OCD does not entertain me.
