I think your first mistake was downloading DI…
That slot machine casino game is toast, let it sink into history as the game which forever ruined a great brand and it will be talked about in business schools for eons as what NOT to do.
EA “No gaming company could ever possibly manage to create a game as bad that drives away loyal customers in such large numbers as quickly as we did”
Blizzard “Hold my beer”
No disinformation here. Just because you and your band if alts don’t believe one can have fun in DI not chasing the P2W power items and playing the game differently doesn’t mean it’s wrong.
Facepalm all you want, but one could and and still make progress.
Killing blows can happen from weaker players too. It’s unfortunately they way they went about it, but you still get your exp. And honestly, i haven’t seen mobs of players running around like that outside of bosses/events. I might come across a few at a time in an area, but even then spawn rates are so high in situations it doesn’t take long to finish bounties.
I get 8 bounties, a CR, and an ER done while drinking my coffee before work no problems. But maybe it’s the time of day for me.
I never had a problem clearing bounties with other players roaming around the same zone. I think some people here exaggerate the issue here.
Mobile players: Thanks Blizzard for making DI. We love it.
Well said. Don’t you love it that people, especially when you can see a lot of posters here with low paragon and unoptimized gear for their D3 profile out of sudden have great concern about chasing power items in the Diablo game?
Sure, 3-4 CR points per day (if you are lucky) can still be considered “progress”. Let me explain how the CR is biased against F2P players. I suspect that Blizz chose that model not out of ignorance but out of greed (to force people to pay for Legendary Gems). They have not disclosed precisely how they calculate the CR but it is known that CR is affected by the 5 Main Attributes (St, Vit, Fort, Int, Will) and Resonance.
The first 5 Main Attributes are exclusively received via affixes on Gear and Upgrades whereas the Resonance is related to the quality and level of upgrades to Legendary Gems.
People that really play this game 7+ hours daily know (take a look at the complaints in DI bug-report forum) that once at the middle of H2 the new gear including Legendary and Sets stops giving higher-level items and all you can do with that is…salvage for scrap.
All bonuses from Paragon (buffs only Secondary Attributes - Damage, Life, Armor, Armor Penetration, Resistance etc), Helliquary and Ibn-Sanctuary are not taken into consideration in CR.
They could have used a model that besides Resonance would take into account the power brought from normal Gems (ignored for CR calculation), Helliquary, Paragon and Ibn-Sanctuary, just by using in the calculations the Secondary Attributes (Damage, Life, Armor etc etc).
But they did not.
You as a F2P player once reaching 1700-1800 CR are stuck into a limbo in H2. CR works in such a way that if you are 300-400 points behind H3 or H4 monsters you cause onlu 20% damage and take 800% damage back. Good luck with that.
You are arguing that given enough patience an arithmetic progression will catch-up and balance a geometric one…
Paragon 91 and half of Primary Gear upgraded to level 11. Two sets (2-pieces each) operational.
I was talking about D3 because you can see their D3 profile. Also, I said “a lot of posters” not “all” posters.
D3 has not such problems. P2W paradigm brought us hilarious situations where 80 000$ whales are complaining that there are no F2P or 1000$ players to bully due to their 3000+ CR rating.
In real world this (using money to advance one’s interests) is the root of corruption and Capture of the State. The result is…a Failed State.
The set items for your secondary gear slots (amulet, rings, gloves, belt and boots) are only available from dungeons. Belt and Boots are available at Hell 1 (and above), Amulet and Gloves at Hell 2 (and above) and rings at Hell 4 (and above). Hell 1 dungeons require at least 2 players, and Hell 2 and above requires 4 players. Basically, if you play solo, there’s no way to acquire a secondary armour set.
The matchmaking is working as intended. I see nothing wrong with it. It also happened in Heroes of the Storm where GM can’t find a game due to their high MMR where most of the players were at gold-platinum MMR.
Fully agree with that. It’s the extreme power (CR) bought with money that creates such outliers that have difficulties finding plyers with similar MMR.
No one has a word to say for a Serral or Dark (Starcraft) that are 7000+ MMR. They rely exclusively on their exceptional skill and talent.
But what can you say for a Silver Player (Starcraft) that having bought Carriers with 4000HP, 128 Interceptors and 2560 DPS challenges Code-S Champions and …wins hands down?
It would be the end of Starcraft (and Warcraft too).
This has not been my experience at all. You can’t kill steal in Immortal. As long as you are on the mob aggro table you get credit for the kill and equal chances at loot.
I also have zero issues with bounties. I play solo. Only solo. The mobs spawn so fast and the quest markers show you where they are. It makes them super fast and efficient.
As a casual player it is quite enjoyable. If I liked to min-max and do end game I would have a diff opinion.
And we get a free set via the Prodigy’s path which is technically in the Shop, but free. Even more than one set really. We can get two boots, two belts, etc. The free ammy is at P85. So yes, I am a solo player with secondary set armor.
Okay, potentially up to 4 pieces of one of the sets. You’ll have no way to acquire the other sets, or the rings for any of the sets.
Immortal is refreshing with a blend of D2/D3, better graphics, gameplay, and navigation. I am F2P with zero $$ spent. Everyone has opinions. What’s important to one is less/not important to others. Was difficult getting friends to all play same server.
I know they are and stated as such. But you can till make progress with paragon to gain all thise permanent bonuses which are just as good. Don’t get me wrong here, you won’t be as progressed if you choose to do inly solo stuff at Hell1 and above, but you can still have fun and progress.
Do one experiment yourself:
- Take note of your CR (Combat Rating).
- Remove all normal-Gems from slots (you will lose Damage, Armor, HP etc)
- Reset to 0 (you can do it once weakly) all your Paragon
- Check again your CR.
Ooooops. The CR has not moved an inch.
So, long story short: you don’t.
Again, you are narrow focused on one thing. I can move up on my challenge rifts, gain paragon, complete more of my codex, progress on my BP, and so on. There is more to do than just increase your CR.
That is one legitimate perspective that you are fully entitled to have. Not shared by most. A 6-gear transmission car that is stuck in the second gear is something to be looked in (in a repair shop).
I know that us non-paying mortals will not see 5-Star Leg-Gems upgraded at level 15 in our lifetime, but extreme caps will force 99% of F2P players to vegetate in H2.
All i am asking is to have a tinny possibility to progress (though much slower and never reaching the whales).
