Diablo Immortal: Development Update

As do I brother as do I. D3 is getting old, D2R is just a facelift, and DI no thanks unless it is on my computer.

Reading some of the details of immortal makes me feel like they gave up on a lot of potential for new features in D3 way too soon.

They’re going to add 8 player content to a mobile game, but couldn’t push D3 beyond 4. There will be “raiding” on mobile Diablo, but they never even attempted to add additional kinds of group content to D3 after rifting.

They abandoned PvP for D3 entirely, but it seems like that’s in for immortal.

It’s too late now as everyone is just looking forward to D4, but I feel like a lot of potential was wasted with D3.

I think we will get those had the D3 2nd expansion didn’t get canned. But yeah, it is safe to think that most of the features that were meant for D3 were ported to Diablo Immortal. There is no coincidence that Diablo Immortal feels like D3.5 for many.

D3 is not MMORPG. Diablo Immortal is meant to be MMORPG. That is why they are willing to squeeze as many players into the boss fight as possible. There are 48 players raid too in Diablo Immortal.

Most likely because Diablo Immortal is MMORPG and they need to find a way to retain some players from stop playing once they cleared the PVE contents in Immortal. Won’t be surprised that Diablo Immortal was made with PVP in mind.

Controller support I’m down for.

Indeed. Diablo 3 wouldn’t had gotten raids or any content locked behind group play since it’s an arpg, one that has content equally available to both solo and multiplayer. Now Diablo Immortal on the other hand:

Diablo® Immortal™ is a mobile Massively Multiplayer Online Action RPG (MMOARPG) developed by Blizzard Entertainment in partnership with NetEase, coming exclusively to Android, iPhone, and iPad.

Is meant to have multiplayer contents like raid and such.

A question…
Does any one really Care about diablo immortal?

I do.

I wanna buy Diablo Immortal Controller and while go on Holidays. I plug it into my TV, and play. Theres no way I start to play it on my mobile.

You misspelled ‘world of warcraft’, because that isn’t how D3 works, it’s how WoW works.

It is how paragon works in D3. WoW has also had endless lvling systems though it doesn’t have any currently afaik.

Just read the comments in the twitter link:

So yes, there are people care enough about Diablo Immortal.

Oh…
I thougt they are same guys at blizzcon 2018…

Re-read it. They want to give ‘better’ gear for higher paragon, which isn’t how it works now. You can get the same quality of gear at 0 paragon on Torment 1 as you can with 10k paragon running GR 150’s in D3. Now it’s sounding like the higher your paragon, the better the gear. Which regardless is a horrible idea. Same as WoW. 10 different item levels depending on what difficulty you’re doing. It’s an asinine system.

No, not gear, but it is the same concept. You get stronger and stronger with higher paragon, no matter if that power comes from gear or paragon points.

That’s not what this sounds like to me. This sounds like higher paragon/difficulty, better gear. D3 doesn’t do that. That sounds more like Borderlands 3’s system, the higher your difficulty, the more powerful the items.
