Diablo III PTR 2.7.4 - Has Concluded

Guardian set as is buffing just main stat its going to be irrelevant fast.

I thought it could be a “Shield Set”, as most classes have no way to protect Squirts.
Mechanic rework is better than just adding stats I think

Well you can use that gem that gives life per second and a shield at rank 25. (you also have those gloves, but they activate shield on hit from elites, so that would not work)

It should work for that and help keep the Squirt bonus up if kill fast enough. You will need to drop one of those three almost always used gems though including trapped and stricken and a third one that might change depending on the skill that does all damage for your build.

So in a way that is already there, just the question if you are prepared to drop one of the three almost always used normal gems damage for that off the squirt amu being up a bit more.

They are not allowed either. They need to be 13+ to stream on Twitch

Guardian set could add more defensive stats like dodge%, armor, res, etc. Flat increase to stats is really boring.

Uhhh…how?

Both dual wield and single will both get the same exact advantage.

Hopefully if it happens, it would not require the gem. Maybe something similar to what the Fortress does.

Just brainstorming. “Guardian” seems to be a set that you know…provides shields.

The thing is the gem already does it right now, no need for a change to it, just like many others it could use a rework or be strengthened a bit though for sure. To put a shield like that also on a set, where you can combine them could be overkill even if nice for HC, especially if the set also had some serious life per second regen. :stuck_out_tongue:

Dodge % could be cool.
But armor, res…are just derived from the main stats.
I was thinking it working like the Dominance Passive from Wizard.

I think a static shield…might be too much? But some shield that has more mechanics etc.

Dominance
Passive
Killing an enemy grants a shield that absorbs unsaved damage for 3 seconds. This effect can stack up to 10 times. Unlike other shields, refreshing Dominance will set the shield to its maximum possible potency, and each stack will increase its total duration by 0.5 seconds.
The amount absorbed per stack equals 2% of maximum Life.

Armor and res is because we always go for main stat and vit. So 50% boost to the other 2 stats is useless. You get more defense this way.

I wouldn’t mind a shield, but that might be too strong with Squirt’s. I’d prefer a flat defense boost that could be used on squishy builds like Zuni, Raekor, and maybe new Trag’s when you are at low paragon.

Make Hallowed Defenders into a “shield” Set. Problem solved. Most classes don’t have direct means of keeping Squirt’s medallion buff because they ain’t supposed to. Monks, Crusaders and Wizards have absorb and to some degree Demon Hunters have some means through a single legendary for gaining absorb benefits.

If you happen to try to make use of that amulet without absorb, you also can only try to make use of burst damage at rare occassions as long as you can withstand the damage you incur after causing a wreck of mass crowd control. At any case you can tack in Gizzard gem, Bul-Kathos’ Wedding Band or Rogar’s ring optional and be on your way. Alternatively, wear Saint Archew’s and be sure you have some wits for crowd control effect on a mass scale on trash monsters.

< looks at the Obsidian Ring of Zodiac >
try to bork up this, you stupid RNG!

seriously, though, there are a few items (mostly set pieces such as boots, pants, chests and shoulders) that have only one truly random primary stat roll. these seem like good candidates for ambering up as you will always be able to enchant it into decent/good usability no matter how it rolled.

Not sure about too strong…Blizzard seems to come up with insane builds and nerf them.

If the shield is not static, the Squirts can be broken.
Zuni needs more than stats to make it not squishy…IMO, the stats may get Zuni 2 shot vs 1 shot…not much difference.

But hopefully, a shield with a UI hopefully can make gameplay more engaging

Yeah I was thinking the same and could be wiser to stay away from weapons and such for the sanctfied item at least for sure at start season let alone that ring for crusader that is getting boosted. :stuck_out_tongue:

The patch says normal legendary

I would sanctify a weapon first. going from normal to perfect ancient…despite its randomness is a huge damage buff!!

If they said must use Ancient…I would think twice.

Normal legendary are useless, now they can be used as mats

The 6p is still there. You just need the Phalanx squeezed in, to keep Akarat’s Champion up.

That depends how often those crucibles drop before T16 though, if only get one or two with droprates before T16 you may want the extra passive over the weapon damage per se and we can roll three passives and not all of them work with each classes build and just get the ancient weapon with reforge or upgrade yellows as we do now if it does not drop fast enough. The WW one for barbs will work mainly with one build for example.

Will be interesting to what will be best item at start people find in PTR, helm maybe or still weapon as you think? It has the high main stats and you only need to reroll crit hit % with it and socket is a given with most set helms.

If they drop like mana from heaven though I might see myself use it on ring of travelers set if use it for that build, another item that often has terrible stats on drop and can cost way too many mats.

well you always wanna sanctify your weapon first and always roll on your weapons anyway.
the only reason to roll another piece of gear would be if you have your desired Weapon dropped in Primal.
and in most cases the next best thing will be your offhand (offhand flat dmg bonus or perfect primal roll für dual wielders where the main skill alternates weapons)

Why is it all I can get is a 500 internal error when I try and read this stuff?
What am I doing wrong?

NM - must be a setting in Firefox…

Single gets to full damage with one sanctify.
Dual alternates between weapons and would need two sanctifies for full damage.

Dual wield builds still benefit from the sanctified power at all times which is the most important part.

Besides, sanctifying the weapon is not the ideal choice anyway since the item will get completely reforged meaning random affixes. Ideally you’d want to sanctify the least randomly rolling item.
