Diablo II: Resurrected Release Date

Only people interested in playing D:I will leave D2R if they even joined it. A lot of people I’ve talked to have no interest in playing Diablo on a tablet or their phones. I don’t think the release of D:I next year has anything to do with the D2R release date. More likely it is WoW classic TBC and WoW SL 9.1 that is driving D2R.

We are still waiting for the BETA, which I do not think will last as long as some people think. Not too long after BETA (unless something unforeseen occurs) D2R will go live. My guess is BETA toward the second half of July with a release date between the last part of August and first part of September. They may want it out in time for the Labor Day holiday. Disclaimer: given past history, you never know what Blizzard is going to do.

DI is also meant for the D3 players. I took one look at it and said no. I have heard the reviews and it apparently is just like D3, playing the same and perhaps even an improvement over D3.

There is a massive gulf between D2 and D3, they pull different players. I for one will not be playing DI just like I didn’t play D3. We will see if they can get players like me back for D4.

I really hope you’re right. truly I’d like nothing more then having an early release and I remember ppl talking about “So called leaks” 2+ years ago of a D2 remaster all speculation but I think they have been working on this in the background for awhile and Like Rhyker Hypothesized D2r Got Put off a year later and D:i was announced instead Because of a/the leak. I hope to see at least the Multiplayer Beta real soon. if it’s going to be a release date around thee end of this Month they’d have to hit us with beta multi-stress testing followed by a quick release so kinda pessimistic atm.

There was not even a beta release yet, so these June release date ideas are just wishful thinking.

Yea, I made this thread back on February 28th making some predictions. June 29th seems unlikely now, but I’m hoping Beta will be soon like I had posted in a later post, and now predict that release will be sometime around end of D3 Season 23. So, Beta soon, and release date by August 10th, 2021 hopefully!

Blizzard just announced that the D3 PTR will be “soon”. If the follow the normal trend, this PTR will las two weeks. I would not expect the D2R beta until after the D3 PTR ends.

Yea, the D3 PTR starts Thursday, June 17th. 2 weeks would put it ending Thursday, July 1st. After D3 PTR ending this would give Blizzard employees time off for July 4th weekend. Beta for D2: R might be announced Tuesday, July 6th. Early access could be Thursday, July 8th, everyone else Friday, July 9th. Instead of ending on Monday, July 12th, since this is Multiplayer, stress testing the servers, and more than likely will include the other classes, and all 5 Acts, then Beta will probably end on Monday, July 19th. That would give D3 it’s normal Season start after PTR several weeks which would probably start Friday, July 23rd.
If D2: R follows 3 months between announcements(Alpha April 6th to Beta July 6th) to (Beta July 6th to D2: R release sometime in October) and Ladders are 3 months:
D2: R 1st Ladder: October, 2021
D2 Ladder reset: December, 2021
D2: R Ladder reset: January, 2022
D2: R Ladder reset: April, 2022
D2 Ladder reset: June, 2022
D2: R Ladder reset: July, 2022
D2: R Ladder reset: October, 2022
D2 Ladder reset: December, 2022
Notice difference in length of each reset whether it’s D2/D2: R is 2 months, 1 month, 3 months, 2 months, 1 month, 3 months, 2 months.

If D2: R does release in October and the Ladder seasons are 4 months:
D2: R 1st Ladder: October, 2021
D2 Ladder reset: December, 2021
D2: R Ladder reset: February, 2022
D2 Ladder reset: June, 2022
D2: R Ladder reset: June, 2022
D2: R Ladder reset: October, 2022
D2 Ladder reset: December, 2022
Notice difference in length of each reset whether it’s D2/D2: R is 2 months, 2 months, 4 months, 4 months, 2 months.

In this situation if D2: R releases in October and the Ladder seasons are 3 months Ladder resets for both D2, and D2: R will be separate months! If D2: R releases in October and the Ladder seasons are 4 months every June they’ll have Ladder reset for both D2, and D2: R!

It’s official. September 23

My prediction that late Q3 proved to be true.

Wow look at how wrong you were on pretty much every count, giving people false hope and expectations.

It’s perfectly possible they had hoped for an anniversary release at some point but couldn’t make it for any number of reasons. Unforeseen bugs, delayed to avoid overlapping WoW release schedule, needed more time to be able to simultaneously launch on multiple platforms, working at home/covid caused delays etc.

They were just predictions, and this was way back in February. It wasn’t false hope, and expectations, but just hyped as much as everyone else for D2: R! I would have liked to see an anniversary release, but either way it’s coming soon in September! Let’s all embrace it!
