my guess is internally they’re aiming for the anniversary for release, but don’t want to hard commit yet. I would assume they’d announce the release date at least a month in advance, so if we don’t hear anything by the end of May, then they’d probably aim for a holiday release at the end of the year as a backup plan.
Yea, they have been working on D2R since 2019 they said. I’m guessing majority of the game is finished, and they’re just getting the feedback from the Tech Alpha, and then the Multiplayer Beta coming soon to fix certain things that people encounter. After that the game should be ready to release. June 29th, 2021 seems very likely!
Wasn‘t there also a Statement in the Last Interview with VV and blizzard (that Korean one that got translated) that they had to schedule the Alpha one Test for VV the way they did in Order to get Feedback in time before battle net Team starts with Multiplayer Testing? So my guess would also be Multiplayer Test in may and Release in June. With other blizzard Games i would be more pessimistic but as VV was „contracted“ with the development I would assume that they have a delivery date and that’s why I think the overall progress of the game is much more done then they showed so far. But maybe my thoughts on this is more wishing then reality.
Rumors started with the " Don’t you have a phone? " presentation so I still belive they do it since 2018 but they had nothing to show it.
Rumors have been going on a long time. The point at which the rumors went into overdrive was August 2018 with the hype video about multiple Diablo projects in the work that you can still see in the youtube video by Nevalistis.
There 3 big release this year and they will spread it out
My guess
Burning crusade = June
Patch = 9.1 August
D2 = November
I am pretty confident just based on Blizzard’s history and the logical timing of development that it’s going to be in the range of November - Christmas. June is incredibly too optimistic if things went way better than they expected with the rest of Alpha/Beta August would be the absolute earliest I could imagine being realistic.
If Burning Crusade release is announced first for June-August you can guarantee it’s not till Nov/Dec.
I wish it would be in June, but I think it will be more like autumn or december. Since there will still be a second alpha and a beta juin seems not to be very realistic to me.
I’m not saying it’s guaranteed to be in time for the anniversary, I’d just be shocked if that wasn’t their target internally.
On top of how short the alpha testing period was (at least the public one); looking more like a marketing opportunity to stir up interest than an actual alpha. If the next test turns out to be the server stress test and it happens within May, It’s definitely a possibility of a June release. Games tend to release within a month of the stress test, but I’d imagine we’d have a release date announced by the time of that test.
With the latest news of D: I being released in 2nd half of the year, and it sounds like D2: R might also it still puts June 29th, 2021 near the beginning of the 2nd half of the year which is still a possibility for D2: R’s release!
June 29th would be perfect, but I guess we’ll have to wait a bit more
Please give us some News about development progress !
Blizzard yesterday stated that D2R will be released second half of 2021. That means that June dates are out. Moreover, given the vagueness I assume that it will not be “early” second half of 2021.
July 1st = 2nd half of the year. June 29th = 2 days from 2nd half of the year which “could” still be a possibility. Just have to wait, and see!
I bet they surprise everyone and release it right after they wrap up the Beta Testing~
Yeah after 3 months of beta testing
literally nothing about what they said implies an early nor late second half of 2021. The vagueness means you cant derive ANYTHING from it in either direction.
But what we do know is BC is releasing June 1st, and D:I is releasing after D2R. And given the 4-day alpha and their stance on not changing anything beyond minor things, we can easily conclude that D2R will release Sometime between July 1st and September 30th. the End of Q3 at the very latest to bolster those quarterly sales and to give D:I enough space after to release in Q4. It seems they are counting on people getting bored with D2R relatively fast and moving on to D:I since D2R is just a remaster with no new content coming.
I do not know this. Could you provide a link/the direct quote to the information/source.
This is what I predicted a few days ago. TBC Classic is actually coming out before my prediction!
It also seems possible the release date could have changed internally to accommodate WoW releases.
If 9.1 comes out at the end of June or early July maybe they were worried D2:R would kill any interest in 9.1 (even though 9.1 is killing interest in iteself)?
Possibly. Chains of Domination may release around mid June, and D2: R around end of June/beginning of July! Just in time for July 4th weekend. Kids will be out of school for the summer, and people will have time off from vacation, etc. This will get a lot of people playing some WoW TBC Classic, WoW Chains of Domination, and D2: R!
