Diablo 4 Progression Question

Well, they did expand DI paragon board when they increase the paragon level cap in the 2nd major patch update which is after the 6 months launch.

I’m not familiar with D:I updates, but you may be right.

At the minimum, there will be suppose hard end game bosses, in season that supposedly also reward cosmetics or maybe titles from the end game quarterly update.

Also these trade nonsense need to stop. Most gamers do not like trade, no more than liking goccery shopping, or working.

People just like the end result.

Oh, I didn’t mean that I doubted your claim, I meant that you may be right that they do end up expanding Diablo 4’s paragon boards sooner than I initially expected.

Oh I see. But it also depends that how long to reach P100 in D4. If they making P100 as long as P5000~P100000 in D3, then they don’t have to rush it.

Blizzard doing a D:I after release definitely seems likely. It was pretty obvious that the D:I system was meant as an endless system in disguise.

You just listed features that make D3 better than D2 to me.

D4 is shaping up to be done in a month of gameplay. No incentives to play after you hit max level. D2 answers this by giving ultra rare items - which caused me to quit. Just the fact that paragon levels are uncapped, and give me an experience sink to see tangible power growth (even tho its small) keeps me interested and has kept me playing for years without interrupt. D4 doesn’t have that.

That’s what D4 is going to be after a month.

The problem here is that they’ll lose any and all ability to get future transactions off of me. I pre-ordered D4 because I have grown up with Diablo since the mid 90s when my mom thought I was too young to play, because it had some nudity. However without something to keep me logging in, that carrot, they lose my eyes. Which means they could introduce cool new skins and cosmetics to the in-game store that I have zero likelihood of buying simply because I have stopped playing the game.

Blizzard could introduce new cosmetics to D3 and I would buy them without a second thought.

I sure hope (but sadly dont expect) the progression lasts for more than a month. Items to find, multiple characters to make etc. Remember the lvling is luckily not account-wide this time around.

That might count as a problem I guess. But they likewise lose sales to cosmetic-hungry players who quit because of the endless lvling. So might not be a worse problem for them than the alternative.

As for myself, there is effectively nothing Blizzard can do to make me buy “cool new skins and cosmetics”.
(with the exception of course being a rainbow pony mount, Blizzard )
But I guess I would not want to buy any expansions or DLCs at least, if they went the D3 paragon route.

Yes it is. Paragon is account wide. So is renown.

Skill and paragon point renown rewards are account-wide, but XP renown rewards are not.

You have to level up and customize paragon boards for each character, and they only affect that character.

This. The paragon and skill points you attain via renown will be account wide. However the skill points and paragon points (post-level 50) that you attain while leveling won’t be shared nor account-wide, and instead will be individual based.

How many paragon points were from renown?
200 from lvls, right?
