Diablo 4 IV Beta - EU Brussels servers - Packet loss?

I’ve got the following specs:

  • 13900k
  • 3090 RTX
  • 2x 16 GB 7200 Mhz CL 34
  • m2 ssd (3000/3000+ read/write)
  • Windows 11 22H2 (22621.1413)
  • Drivers: Tested 531.29 / 527.56
  • 1440p 165hz
  • Internet 1000 Mbit FTTH (Diablo latency in game shows 30-40 msec)

While other games such as Warzone 2.0 (175+ fps easy, no stutter) or Hagwards legacy run very well with high FPS, diablo IV beta stutters so much that I basically can’t play at times.

I’ve limited in-game FPS to 175 (no vsync) as my monitor has 165 hz. The in game FPS counter shows 175 FPS and then (even if I just stand still) every now and then the game freezes and FPS drops like to 1 FPS and goes back up… (Stutter, very visible too, snow basically stops falling for thr time of the stutter)

Looking at CPU / GPU utilization does not show any abnormalities. Both seem to have allot of head room, GPU utilization is around 65-70%, unless I set FPS to unlimited (400).

I’ve tried so far:

  • Enable/Disable HAGS
  • Switch between 531.29 and 527.56 GPU drivers
  • Check game files
  • Lower textures to MEDIUM

Yesterday night I was able to play without any stutter.

My question is:
Might this be packet loss stutter?

I’ve checked the server IPs with the help of LiveTcpUdpWatch tool.
All the servers that I’m getting are hosted on google cloud in Brussel.
Sadly those server IPs are NOT pingable.

If so, how can I go about it? How can I verify packet loss in Diablo 4 to server?
Would packet loss lead to a “freeze” stutter behavior?

This game needs some a more advanced “internet debug” display, where it shows packet loss, ping and maybe even server IP (as otherwise how would you report this to your provider)
