Well I hope they let us turn it off - The less arcade like I can get it the better. I like to make the game harder, I play soft core. I’ve played hardcore before and it does make for a vastly different game though.
Nooo, nothing arcadey. It’s not going to be something obvius, it’s something that you’ll notice after several encounters. It will not stand out for the first couple of times.
Yeah if I were a Blizzard Exec I would direct assets to make a Diablo full RPG. Not to detract anything from the ARPG’s but to start a new path. To take the franchise and tell a story driven game. Blizz does not do this now.
yea because story driven games usually end sometimes and can’t sell MTX very well. if not going the absolute disgusting EA route xD
Yeah, I’m speaking as a purest Gamer who loves the franchise (and RPG’s), but you are correct.
it’s the sad truth
i think sometimes it was considered to make the next diablo game a souls like
would definitely be a great game but look at souls. there are no MTX whatsoever xD
I am happy D4 isnt an actual Souls game (as much as I would want Blizzard, and all other devs, to learn from those games). Give us a new A-RPG!
A separate Diablo game being a genuine Souls game? That would be really awesome to see.
It would likely fail spectacularly, Blizzard doesn’t seem like a company that could pull off such a game, not in terms of dev skills, rather the mindset. But at least I’d give some bonus points for them even trying ![]()
As for MTX. Some of the “Souls-likes” out there have certainly tried to throw cosmetic MTX into the mix. Blizzard would surely find a way ![]()
A different colour name would work, but I think it’d be better just to tint the monster itself like Diablo 2 did.
That way you get information immediately that they’re worth paying attention to and can mouseover for more detailed info, rather than needing to mouseover everything on the screen constantly.
A great game only takes one person with a vision at the head of a team of professionals, I actually think Blizzard has the talent the mindset comes from the Director to flow his/her passion and energy to a team. I would be hopeful.
They are an awful talented and massive design house. Yes they have had a lot of bad things happen fairly recently but I think with the Microsoft acquisition they have started to turn a corner.
Yeah, maybe my post was badly worded. I also meant the devs have the talent. But I am not sure the devs, or the directors have the mindset for it. But they could hire someone from outside of course.
Problem is, that requires someone at the top with the mindset for wanting to hire a director with that mindset ![]()
If it actually goes through ![]()
I don’t want to know that there is a monster hiding behind a pillar, I want to be scared by it when I walk past it and react quickly to kill it! That’s the D1 vibe everybody wanted right?
I really hope that they don’t make it to easy and cater us with to much battlefield information.
Outside of some areas like jail cells or broken buildings, it’s been like that mostly for every game.
It’s pretty obvious which ones are elite or not without any color.
Nah being scared when walking past is not enough. I want the feeling of my younger friend who was like 7 or 8 watching me play and telling me later he got multiple nightmares from the game.
Jess, Go play-soul like games by all means, STOP trying to make Diablo into soul-like. Thanks.
Souls have no MTXs because they are NOT live services, also they do not get upgrade barred some bugs & balance/exploit fixes. Apple vs Orange.
Oh i never tried to
It’s just a funny thought experiment why it never happened :v
If only the same was true for D4 ![]()
As long as it was a side-game and not D4, it would not really do any harm to try other genres in the franchise. They can just do both.
wait, what is that over there?
oh noes, it is an angry horde of Warcraft RTS players

I guess you have a point.
You rally get scared with these games?
Well I’m not talking for SpicyMeat as that would be rude.
But for myself, Adult scared is different than little kid scared. I was 40 something when I ran in to the Butcher in D1 - It scared me in an adult way (I laughed), I like it when a game can do that. Unfortunately I’m fairly jaded nowadays. But I hope they still try.
I literally ran away for a bit. I think i might of died. I just remember not being able to get past the ‘mountain’ in town for ages. Where Wirt was.
