Diablo 4 and Diablo 2 Remaster to be announced at Blizzcon 2019

I completely disagree.

Also, I think that D2 as a remake/remaster will be completely different than the current D2. Hence the idea that trading etc… will not work might be a bit off base, it is all assumptive as of now.

Thankfully, we will have the answers in 11 days!!!

Even if we do not get Diablo news, I still love Blizzcon, just seeing so many like minded people hanging out and having a good time. One of these years I will need to make it out there

Just don’t be surprised if it ends up like last years Blizzcon for Diablo PC community…

Let’s have a little faith. It would be really hard to be of similar quality to last year. Even if they did not announce anything diablo related, I would argue that it would be better.

After typing that, I guess that it could be worse. They could double down on D:I.

All they had to do was give it the Bethesda/Elder Scrolls treatment and no one would have complained (e.g. ES mobile game Blades and PC ES6 teaser)

I’m not going to waste my time guessing what but if they don’t launch something they’re screwed. With all the “leaks” I’m wondering if it’s a strategy to boost virtual ticket sales.

then why are there so many mods of D2 with lots of additions, reworks, new items, abilities and so much more if you say the D2 players don’t want anything new added to the game?

I believe it… my question is, how full of bots are the games going to be and how soon? I guess only time will tell.

If they can just do something to get rid of the bots I would be happy. A year or two ago they broke them at the start of a new ladder for about 4-5 months and it was the most fun I had with the game in a long time.

I’m pretty sure people were expecting D4 right up to the point Wyatt walked on stage and announced Immortal.

No, they aren’t. Actual facts would allow a yes or no answer to the question - all we have are rumors and speculations, same as the last several years.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ll be quite happy if there’s a D4 announcement… but I doubt I’ll even know about it until that night. I’ll probably forget it’s Blizzcon that day/weekend in the first place.

When Nev made her anti-hype video saying somethings take longer than others and be patient pre-Blizzcon 2018, I knew D4 would not be announced then.

Diablo 4 and Diablo 2 Remaster to be announced at Blizzcon 2019

let the leak be announcing the truth please.

I still play Diablo 2 in single player to this day. Definitely interested in a remaster (or remake) if done properly. D2 could use some small changes such as auto gold pickup, or shared stash with extra tabs for space (could be upgradeable).

Diablo 4 also sounds interesting, not gonna get my hopes up tough. D3 was the last game I ever got on launch, and it was a total flop until the AH was removed. If theres gonna be microtransactions or some allways online bullsh!t again, then no thanks. Can allways just watch a lets play for the story.

This sounds great but my experience with rumors vs reality when it comes to BlizzCon announcements is that reality is always very underwhelming by comparison. And I felt this way even before last year’s Diablo Immortal debacle.

D4 with a simultaneous D2: Remastered announcement sounds way too good to be true. Like they’re unofficially saying that D3 sucked and now they want to wipe their hands clean of it: Here’s D2 Remastered to tithe you over while we make D4. D3 did suck but I just don’t see Blizzard going in this direction.

The most offensive thing to me about the Diablo Immortal announcement last year wasn’t that we were getting the next Diablo game on mobile exclusively or that it just wasn’t D4, it was that Blizzard still believed Diablo 3 was good enough to port to yet another platform and continue with this model for an ARPG. Diablo Immortal is just Diablo 3 on mobile. If this franchise is gonna get revived, D4 needs to go in a totally different development direction compared to D3 and I’m not just talking about cartoony colors and artwork. The “cartoony” colors and artwork are like problem number 87 of like a list of 263 things wrong with D3 that contribute to it being a pretty terrible and non-immersive ARPG. I’m not on the other common boat of ‘just make D4 like D2’ bandwagon either. In a nutshell, put RPG back into ARPG with D4. If you want a good example, take a look at Grim Dawn. I consider it to be the current gold standard for ARPGs. Of course, regarding my pessimism, I’m hoping I’m wrong and Diablo takes it’s place back as the king of ARPGs.

So you think it is fine if D2 Remaster became D3 lite later? You need to remember those modders are not the one who are going to update the D2 Remaster.

I don’t mind if D2 Remaster got a new contents in the future, I just hate D2 players start to complain and cry if D2 remaster ended up different from what they wanted later. Plus, don’t forget that D2 players are extremely harsh and critical when it comes to Blizzard.

What did you expect? Another employee to throw themselves into the burning forges and tell us that they’re hot? Yeah. That wouldn’t work. All those leaks are a substitute for that hype video last year for me.
If they had any plans to reveal this year, I doubt bad rep or “leaks” would goad them into making changes the last minute.

Apparently 25th Oct is the release date of D:I, if that’s the case we may have a chance to see more hitting reveals at Blizzcon. Because as I know, both Allen Adham and our CM have a D:I logo behind them on their pictures in the list of spoke persons. We’ll see if they want an alternative rival to their D:I mobile game the moment they release it.

I’ll be ensured something good coming when I see three things; the quality of those VT gift wings, floor plans (still not there) and if there’s any, word from our CM.

Diablo4 will be announced on Blizzcon 2019 because it was made for the PS5 and adapted to PC like diablo3. PS5 will be released on 12/2020.

It could be, we’ll see from gameplay shown. Let’s hope it’s not console-like.

They need to wait cloudtech or blockchain technologies to improve or invest in those themselves. I ain’t seeing them getting involved with their development any time soon. They only chase the market as a tripple-A company, not interested in creating it.

don’t get your hopes high folks. Considering the quality of Blizzard now a days, don’t be surprized by a trashy Diablo 4 gameplay filled with microtransactions.

This is what happened when you trust Blizzard:

Whuddup.

Reminds me of one part of a Zero Punctuation review. “This is exactly what we wanted!” “Actually here’s [inferior game in the same gameworld], how about playing it?” “No, we’re fine. Good luck with that though.”
