That simply can’t be true. You only see what your game install allows. If I have topless women in my game, because my country does alllow it, you won’t see that on your screen. You’ll see what your game install allows for graphics.
No, like every other money grab, they are just trying to expand their audience. It’s the same reason movies tend to go from Rated R to Rated PG-13 when they make a sequel. It sucks.

Not sure what article you think you found though. I would wager it is someone speculating, not an official interview with Blizzard.
Keep in mind what the game was rated for though - it was not for sexual content. It was for blood, gore, and violence.

Well, you can see this basically… everywhere. Reddit, twitch, twitter, even on this forum. Articles are popping out daily now, original D2 devs are giving commentaries and etc. 95% of players are extremely annoyed by D2R censorhip regarding player characters.
It will get worse after beta. And a lot worse after the release if they aren’t going to fix that. Just saying.

With all due respect? The game has always had an M rating. Let’s be honest though. The game is not getting these changes because of an ESRB rating or to better fit the content descriptors. There are countless other M rated games that have partial _____. I can name you a few if you like that even include certain scenes.

It’s not just the Amazon. Andariel has been changed. Blood Raven has been changed to the point she no longer looks like the original.
The very simple reason this game is getting such changes is because Blizzard have in the past shown they are willing to appease China.
A report came out a while back detailing China’s ethics review board saying a number of Blizzard games needed “Corrective action.”
Among them?
Overwatch and Hearthstone.
Guess what happened to Hearthstone? Succubus card? Gone. Replaced with a felstalker. Can’t show attractive women. The “Bite” card’s artwork had any trace of blood removed. Blizzard claimed it was to bring the artwork in line with their standards which I find silly because the new art sucks compared to the original artwork. And that’s part of the reason why I stopped playing Hearthstone. Why play a game where any digital items you have feel like you no longer have any “collection” if it can change at the whim of Blizzard.
Blizzard just can’t resist screwing something up that fans are/were anticipating.
If the reason is that they are aiming for one universal client? They could save themselves a lot of headaches if they made a separate client for each region as WoW has.
Most of those articles and videos use “Censor(ing)” in the title because it is a word that triggers a strong reaction. Another words, it is click bait. That is why stuff is popping up everywhere. It is content creators looking for views. The same goes for buzzwords and acronyms like “sexist, racist, sjw, right wing, leftist, liberal, etc” The internet thrives on controversy.
Have you looked at Andarial? I do not see any censorship efforts there.
