Devs, are you bending the knees at the last minute?

So they should bend the knee to 20%? What are you saying dude?

What, of any of this is actually game-breaking or core gameplay changing?

  • stackable runes/gems – do I like the idea? Nope. But, how does that really become a game changer? It gives you more inventory space and gems and low-mid runes have little-to-no value. A Jah and Ber are gonna be worth tons no matter if they are stackable or not.

  • additional item tooltops - again, how would this completely overhaul the core? The only difference here is no need to press Alt-Tab or have the Arreat Summit loaded on a second monitor – literally no gameplay change.

  • mercenary balancing – ok yea this one makes no sense. Mercs with good gear are already viable and they aren’t meant to be an immortal follower like in Diablo 3 once you find the correct relic/focus, etc. The bonuses in terms of auras that they give is far more powerful than anything a Diablo 3 merc gives – the balancing is fine.

  • ingame runeword and horadric cube encyclopedia – see #2 - falls within the same category.

  • optional loot-filter – what does a loot filter actually change about the game other than giving you a cleaner view of your screen and ability to see everything you EARNED (i.e. this isn’t sitting at the entrance of a GR150 and pillaging, D3 fans  ) by killing the mobs in front of you? It doesn’t increase drops or make drops any more special than they would be with no filter.

  • minor spell balancing – Well… We all know there are too many useless skills in D2 already. The idea that build diversity could open up more may not be a bqad thing
(READ: diversity does not mean universal Easy mode and for the Diablo 3 fanboys, D3 is not even an iota near meeting this idea of build diversity – it just gave you universal easy mode – breathe deep and relax).

  • more endgame content – why not? As long as the drop rates and rewards are in-line with the current system and not revamped to D3.5, new content could be fun I guess? Maybe even a new act in an expansion. Again – these don’t change the core of Diablo 2 – they enhance it.

Lastly, I am very, very glad there is no ploot listed at all. It really goes to show just how little the voices of “zomg universal ploot naauwwwww” are no matter how loud they scream. It’ll be a good life lesson when the game is released without it – the garbage that works on campus doesn’t work here

their original plan from the day they announced d2r was that they would launch a faithful remaster, whatever that means to them i won’t speculate atm, and then post launch they will decide on what changes if any will happen based on what players want.

I agree with most of that, but you can’t say the mercs are balanced with a straight face. The Act 2 merc is OP compared to the others, and the Act 3 merc is virtually worthless.

Yeah, it definitely should not be about what gets most votes.

Just silly to see people go around pretending they represent some imaginary majority.

Imo they should not stack in inventory, only stash. It is really just an indirect way to increase the stash tbh. Which is good. Likely more efficient for the servers than more stash space.

Balancing doesnt mean buffing mercs overall. That definitely should not happen. More about making the lesser used mercs competitive.

Some endgame content surely could change the core of D2.
Stuff like Rifts etc. should never ever be added to D2 imo, no matter how well balanced you can make it. D2s endgame happens in the game world. That should remain true.

Why does this feel like a multiaccount from a now removed user?

So now we’re worried about the effect ‘rifts’ would have on the lore? Nobody cares about the lore anymore, we just want something fun to do endgame other than chaos/baal. Even .09 had COW level endgame, then 1.10 came out and all you can do is Baal and Diablo for good exp.

Not the lore. I dont care particularly about lore.
The effect on gameplay.

True. That is a bit Rift-like.
Was also a “joke” addition to the game though, and one you originally were meant not to be able to reenter after killing Cow King.

Just my opinion in any case. I dont think random dungeons belong in Diablo 2.

Random Dungeons are a core feature of D2, literally the box advertises randomized dungeons that are always a little different to provide replicability. I’m just suggesting some bonus randomized dungeons with high level enemies so they’re viable for endgame leveling and mfing. The loot and exp would basically be no different than what you’d get for clearing the WSK levels going up to Baal or Chaos Sanctuary.

Diablo median xl 2.0 just got released. I’m more hyped for that then the remaster.

Not in the Rift style. Dungeons in D2 exists within the game world. Not magical portals to random tilesets that are not connected to anything.

That was also in the poll. Only 38% supported keeping D2R FFA only so we will see if Blizzard listens to the minority or do what is apparently best for the game and supported by more people.

I went back and looked. This guy posted these surveys five months ago?

First of all, if you title a survey, “Diablo II: Resurrected Survey: What changes do you want?”, you’re going to get respondents who overwhelmingly want changes! This is called push-polling and exposes a clear bias of the surveyor.

This is all a waste of time anyway. All your wishes will be fulfilled when Blizz takes all this energy and puts it into D4.

The Act-1 merc is also valuable for certain builds (mostly melee). My auradin uses the Act-1 merc so she can can give me fanaticism while I use conviction.

Except that also draws in those opposed to changes. The head of the entire Blizzard franchise has indicated that more features are coming after D2R launch and that the poll has some good ideas. 2+2=4

Also, Blizzard has done multiple D2R polls so your idea of push-polling has no relevance for Blizzard’s surveys and many similar things were brought up in their surveys.

One Blizzard question was if players were interested in personal loot replacing FFA loot at D2R launch.

Perhaps they should add a few more dungeons in the world. I wouldn’t mind seeing a multi-level 85+ crawl in a random corner of the world. Wouldn’t be game breaking at all. Maybe make them randomly spawn in each game somewhere in the more obscure spots of the world so we gotta scour for it. Would be a hell of a lot more engaging than running the Pit 10,000 times.

That would be my approach. Add more endgame to the gameworld. New bosses/super uniques, new dungeons etc.
Stuff that takes place in the games overworld, and not from a portal in town.

What are the results of Blizzards surveys? Do you have a link?

I’m starting to think you have a thing for me, blash. Back for some more?

Personally, I just hope that the D2R forum updates so that those who pre-ordered and then refunded lose their forum access. It is my understanding that this forum is supposed to be restricted to those with current pre-orders.
