Demon hunter items - skill support

“Archery & Secondary” skills have support except strafe

Wojahnni Assaulter crossbow
Demon hunter only has two Channel registering skills, rapid fire and strafe
strafe has no impactful damage support, no direct sets, no additional attack runes.
could this item be updated to have strafe added onto it as there both channeling.

Kmar-tenclip
this perk makes the skill conflict with elements
“Strafe’s damage turns into lightning” use Ctrl to see. your literally breaking the skill with this perk of choice. It conflicts with your main slotted rune element and ruins any build.
damage value and perk should be brought up for review as this skill has no game dev support and players using this skill as there core function are shamed and scrutinized daily.
The current bonus would conflict less if this was a direct buff to speed (avoiding Drifting rune altogether) even if your main rune is another element it conflicts.

Some other option could be considered
Strafe gains ~~% movement speed & projectiles deal an extra ~~~~% damage on Critical hits (source)any projectile

Valla’s Bequest
strafe projectiles pierces enemys
– add slow effect for 3 seconds important
– consider bleed for %
as with kmar – the damage value for the skill stat is low 100% isnt sufficient compared to other items adding 300+

Add a set but converted for strafe
The Shadows Bane - (impale)
set 2- while channeling strafe gains
set 4 - same as is
set 6- strafe damage dealt

reasoning out of ALL – “Archery” & “Secondary” every last option has a set making them viable to the higher difficulty
All except strafe - strafe cost should not get any direct Legendary items like what Rapid fire has it should be managed thru build as its always been. However im curious if the cost may be high it literally runs out faster than RF without management and attack speed will drain it faster than applying the same speed to RF with less consecutive line output at that…

the point is players must sacrifice a Kanai slot and a skill slot for upkeep with fire, yet physical costs don’t align with class element reduction gear, such as Cindercoat. it should be worth reducing it enough to justify not running dry so quickly when average players attack speed after paragon is put into play. simply altering the skill so attack speed doesn’t effect upkeep cost this would improve quality.

Vigilante Belt
add item perk
gain +5 to all resource recovery per second

minor suggestion Preperation & Vengeance has a long cooldown- have you considered with the power scale reaching as far as it has if the cooldown is to long

smoke screen should have the 100% speed for the default effect due to it being a escape.
displacement could be replaced with enemy loses agro – great for breaking off a chace when retreating.

Strafe can be relevant with some meaty modifiers on the 2 xbows. The thing you have to watch out for is that Strafe is part of N6 FoK, but that’s okay as their elements conflict (fire vs lightning). If you look at Wojhanni + Sin Seekers, without counting Hellcat Waistguard, you’ll see it takes about 12000% legendary item damage to make the build good (less with strafe % rolls)

That in mind, i think we’re going to need those Strafe xbows to be roughly 700% a piece in order to match the damage of Rapid Fire.

8x8 = 6300% and then multiply that by 1.3x from helm and boots affixes, thus 8320%. Taeguk should equalize the damage a little bit. One thing to consider: N6’s Rapid Fire % is lower on average since RoV resets Wojhanni stacks.

N6 and LoD are good sets for Strafe, both sets are rune locked into the Demolition rune due to Hellcat. No getting around that one without new legendary item effects. N6 Strafe would indefinitely be stronger than LoD Strafe, not sure which set would benefit more when FoK is considered.

RoV has nothing to do with strafe.

Just beacause a skill adds support to player damage doesn’t mean its a strafe set.
A strafe build shouldn’t require a alternative skill
So a passive boost as a whole can’t count since it’s got to be limited to a certain degree to avoid overwhelming everything else

Besides I can’t waste 6 pieces and two skills for some minor gain

Ahem, if you use N6 as a set, RoV is indeed a requirement and becomes supplemental damage. The obvious rune choice for RoV in that build is Anathema, which is compatible with Hellcat Waistguard.

If you build around LoD, which is not the strongest set bonus, then RoV is not a requirement.

but neither support strafe as the source only off hand gains that’s applied to everything else. im not wanting to supplement strafe with a different attack, vengeance only perhaps if at all. but definitely need a set that can let the player avoid other skills that are the only way to deal some sub-par damage.

something designated as Strafe Explicitly

Natalya’s is actually good.

It has a free shoulder slot for Mantle of Channeling or Aughilds. You can equip both strafe xbows, wear Captain Crimson and Aughild, cube Dawn, Hellcat, RoRG. You can wear Nat ring, CoE and Flavor of Time.

Typical setup:

F&R * CoE * Mantle of Channeling = 4.21x

CC3 + Aughild setup (Best Setup for Right Now w/ 2 xBows):

Aughild * CC3 * CoE * Extra xBow 100% Additive Dmg(1.44x) = 4.26x (non-elite) | 5.47x (elite)

Assumes 50% sheet CDR.

But it sounds like you want a standalone set for Strafe.

No matter what Those xBows need to be buffed and made multiplicative.

Your best bet would be LoD and asking for a legendary item that fits into an armor slot: Pants would make sense in this situation.
