Xbox 1 and I can’t trig this event any thoughts please and thank you

You mean the darkening of tristram event?
You dont trigger anything, it just starts, and it started at the brgining on January.
If you are having difficulty figuring out where to go or what to do, thats different.
While in adventure mode, pull up the map for act 1. You should see a red pentagram. Travel to that location and head south / south west until you see an old school pixelated portal.
The event may require online access, but not quite sure of that.

Check the time and date on your console to ensure it is correct. While the PC version uses the time and date on the Blizzard servers to determine if the event is available, the console versions of the game use the time and date on the console.

I’m on Xbox Series X and I do not see the portal or the red pentagram on the map anywhere. I even farmed all 7 cultist pages and it still hasn’t appeared.
Please help.
is your xbox connected to the net?
Are you in Adventure Mode?
The map icon and portal do not exist in Campaign Mode.
Figured it out. I went idle and was disconnected from leaderboards aka offline. Reloaded the game and it’s there.
