Personally the thing I’m most worried about is the combat. I feel like we’re being left out of the conversation in regards to combat.
So these are the things I would like to see ASAP so we can provide feedback on it.
examples of combat
cooldowns
mob movesets and cooldowns
boss mechanics and actual understanding of how hard a boss fight is
examples of pvp fights and how they work/balance (what a balanced pvp fight looks and feels like)
difficulty in end game
basic build set ups
dungeon affixes
trading
Right now we’re being told that the game is going to be difficult. That 6 skills is enough. That the bosses will be hard. That world tiers and Nightmare dungeons will make the game difficult.
I’d like some proof. If 6 skills really is enough, then please show us an example of pve and pvp where we can actually see it in action and provide feedback. Show us a boss fight and the mechanics involved with having to defeat it. Show us some CD management or a moment where a player can be overrun by not playing well. Show us how hard the difficulty in end game can become. Show us the dungeon affixes kicking someone’s butt and a moment they might need to “plan” or “strategize” as you say to get past it, instead of being able to face roll it no matter what the circumstances.
The issue that worries me most is only having 6 skills even though D4’s direct competition Lost Ark and POE both have 8. The other large dev teams that are working on the best versions of ARPGs on the market, do not agree that 6 skills is enough, and neither do I.
If we are shown some of the combat in a detailed way we can see for ourselves and either be convinced that 6 skills is enough or be able to provide feedback that it isn’t.
Even though it’s not to do with combat, I mentioned trading because I also think it’s really important that we see how trading is going to work, long before the game comes out, so we can provide feedback on it.
Please Blizzard provide us with a much more detailed update in regards to combat systems and how combat plays, feels, is balanced and how difficult it is. And please do it long before release so we can provide feedback in a timely manner and actually influence the game before release.
They said monetization models will be explained at the next quarterly report but I’d like to see some extra as well. Reading how they gonna ask for money for pages and paragraphs then awaiting some more information for another 3 months would cease any attraction or hype.
Yeah, I wouldn’t mind answers (or better clarifications) on any of the above.
Also, I’d like to know:
what the Druid’s unique class system is.
whether the developers would consider giving players the option of creating private games. While the current middleground sounds decent, I simply think it’d be better to simply allow players who wish to play purely solo or in large numbers to simply do so by choice.
Whether the developers had changed their minds on giving other classes class quests
More info on Runewords (assuming they’re still in the game)
More info on World Tiers (pretty much a system that’d up the difficulty of the overworld) and whether the rewards that players can get is also upped in order to make it comparable to other rewards. Also whether the system is also available to campaign mode (assuming it’s repeatable.).
More info on the Tree of Whispers system, as well as assurance that there’s no limit on it (such as daily, weekly, or monthly limits).
We may not see it in the next update blog, but those are what I’d certainly like to see.
Probably room for at 3 more blogs.
Even when the beta starts, there wouldnt be much reason for the blogs to stop, as they could talk about stuff not yet present in the beta etc. As well as not everyone interested in D4 would have access to beta, or even want to play if they had access.
Some information about balancing of gear. I guess the “Score” index for gear from DI will be used. Still in DI 98% of the times one just accepts the object with the higher score without thinking further.
“Balancing” would let magical and rare gear to coexist (due to some special advantages that can be added in high Paragon Levels) with Legendary and Sets.
They said something (they accept that this is an issue) but did not elaborate further.
What then should there be no limit at all to how many skills we have on the action bar. Where we can have as many skills that the character has. I like the idea that we have to make hard choices in the skills that we use at any one time.
Tell me do we know how many skill points we will have or how many skills we will have. I don’t think so, the game has no doubt changed since it was first announced.
I guess you get like a computer. I have to treat you and others like you like a computer. Where I have to say exactly what I mean with the right words or it is a no go. Even though I do give you credit for some intelligence.
When I said where we can have as many skills as the character has. What else do you think it means other than skill points. Right now Blizz didn’t say that they removed them and are going D3’s route of unlocking skills.
From last info we have, we get 5 attribute points & 2 skill points per level at least until level 50.
After which we get 1 Paragon point per 1/4 level, Not sure if attribute points & skill points stay same per level after .
So we will not able to have all skills. Otherwise there will be no need for skill points like D3
Why do you think that I said all of the skills the character has. If I was thinking that D4 is like D3 I would’ve said all of the skills the class has instead of character. Character means just that the skills the character has access to. So in this instance it means I know that we won’t have access to all skills.
Trouble of it is that if it is more than 6 it might be close to being able to have all of the skills that you have spent points into. So no real hard choices to make because you have them all. We don’t know how the skill system will work for D4 that is why I say that having more than six could mean we would have all of them that we have chosen to put points into.
So it is a good idea to not give anyone any credit for having a brain. Looking at them like a complete moron (like the Three Stooges acted on stage). That is not good at all and you know it. That would be like saying I am everyone else’s superior when I know I am not anyone’s superior at all.
