I mean, not in the way that their power works, but thematic wise.
- Tribal society
- Their ancestors are very similar way of thinking
- Strong bound to nature and his clan
- More feral/primal skills
And in gameplay wise
- Druids has the best survivability among casters and barbs the highest surv among martial classes
- Both are amazing on dealing physical damage
- Both can excell on melee(shapeshifter druid for eg)
I believe that physical should be the main damage type from druid. For eg, a Geyser can deal physical and fire damage. More “investment” into earth = more fire damage and more “investment” into water = more physical damage. I don’t think that a Druid should be able to become master of all elements, maybe master of water, master of earth or master of the winds, with a little power over other elements but that is it.
On D2, you need to focus on wind or earth or shapeshift and summoning is a support thing which you don’t invest much points and let the +skill gear carry the rest and not every druid picks the grizzly bear.
To be more specific, I believe that most skills that I an suggesting would deal bludgeoning damage but Diablo never had much difference in physical damage types.
