Head over to Blizzplanet Diablo they have been keeping an eye on immortal news.
Sorry it will not let me upload the link, I am not worthy.
Since Q2 2022 is possible imo, I wouldnāt put money on it not releasing on the last day of Q1. Iād gladly bet on no release in 2021 though
Why did David Kim tell Rhykker that they wanted feedback from the community on what the other 2 classes should be, if they already knew what 5 classes would be included at launch?
Are you arguing no game is finished until it gets an expansion? Because thatās what put it where it is now.
You donāt assume D4 will have only 5 classes, right? They obviously want feedback on classes to see what people prefer.
Your link said this:
Paladin, Barbarian, Sorcerer, Amazon and Druid are planned for launch with more coming later. Blizzard wants people to feel like this is Diablo II all over again but in a completely new era of the franchise. Blizzard were also debating whether to include the Druid or Necromancer class at launch of Diablo IV. Blizzard decided put the Druid for launch of Diablo IV and Necromancer for later, since the Necromancer was released already for Diablo III.

Is that what David Kim told Rhykker. I am not talking about expansions.
Check out his answer @ 31:55
Yes, I think he wants peopleās opinion (who what prefers). Iād like monk and wd. This has nothing to do with what is planned for release.
Did you even listen to the question and the answer? If the Paladin and Amazon were the two remaining classes. What was the point for his answer.
Yes, I did. The point is they know what classes people prefer since there will be more classes in the future.
That was not what Rhykker asked him, his question was about launch, not about expansions. If they already knew that it would be the Paladin and Amazon, (based on your reference) when Rhykker asked the question, Davidās answer would have been misleading because they are talking about at launch.
Nothing misleading. He canāt reveal last two classes since thatās for next Blizzcon.
So, if I follow your reasoning. They already knew what the 2 remaining classes were at the time of Blizzcon. When Rhykker asked the question (about launch) David simply deflected the question with a general statement saying that they wanted to know what the community wanted at launch. When in fact he (they) already knew what the new classes were. You need to watch that clip again.
Of course he knew. Thatās not something you start planning in Alpha stage.
It is PR. They can ask people for their opinions, while already having decided the answer.
I would also bet they knew at Blizzcon what the next two classes will be (though of course, things can change).
What seems less likely, is stuff like the aforementioned āleakā knowing what the classes will be, based on a presentation from Blizzard, since Blizzard would likely not have shown the two remaining classes that early. Even behind closed doors. If that leak got real sources (which seems likely), it might simply have been a misunderstanding in some question about other classes.
Hopefully we will know more of the truth in February. The press kit Concept Art has a painting that looks like a āPaladinā in Hell

Releasing a game in early beta stage as they did with D3 would be even more catastrophic.
How long before D3 was released did they make items to hype the game?
I do not remember the only thing I purchased was a guide book after release.
Iāll take it, and thank you in advance.
Agreed, these things arenāt decided long into development time.
They probably knew what classes from the very beginning.
I donāt see it that way tbh. You can change everything from itemization to skills regarding aRPGs from Season to Season and that wonāt hurt anyone playing Seasons. And D4 main philosophy is to enhance Seasonal play as much as possible.
The scenario where you delay the game to polish certain aspects of it is a suicide from marketing pov especially regarding those types of games with Seasonal structure.
