First I’d like to say, yes I bought the collectors edition of Diablo IV (Merry Christmas to me)
I’ve played a few seasons over the years on hardcore and normal with friends and loved every minute of it for every season I’ve been a part of. I cant wait to start up D4 and see the floods of people like there was with D3 launch. Then going with friends straight into hardcore mode to level and laugh hysterically together when the first one of us POOFS.
Secondly, I don’t like seeing “season pass” especially different tiers or levels of it? I also do not see any ()()()(****) info for the season pass anywhere on the main page with explanations on these differences. I guess I should be expected to just know what “Seasonal Battle Pass”, “Accelerated Seasonal Battle Pass”, and “Premium Seasonal Battle Pass” are ?
I may talk about Overwatch 2 for a little but as to express my concerns going forward for my beloved D4! I just want to kindly ask that we please don’t go in the same direction as Overwatch 2. I LOVED Overwatch. It was actually pretty amazing at the start and friendly. I even saw everyone on both teams cheer for the Tracer that replicated the famous sticky-rewind-multi kill and everyone on BOTH teams voted for that player to hear a different game callout (I bet most don’t know what the game said for that).
I “preordered” Overwatch 2 and I didn’t even know it was a free game (I’m a dummy for not doing my research). I don’t care to check social media sites here and there and search high and low to find all the details about things nowadays. Call me old school, but all the info should be on one page, just like it would be on a printed game case or box in the store. I also shouldn’t have to read 10 different * ** *** at the bottom of the box. Is it refund time already, did I just pay for another free game, will Diablo IV be free? Someone told me after I preordered that there was post on the forums saying there is a free version releasing at the same time?!
Last time OW2 got my money and I didn’t even play the season pass really since I thought I was buying the game. Then while playing it I realized it was a complete cash grab and it made me really sad. I could get into comp but my friends weren’t able to and had to get 50 (FIFTY!!!) wins in unranked (doing duos that’s next to impossible it feels like after a lot of hours of losing ) . Then to add salt to that wound that I paid for a free game, didn’t get to much time out of the season pass since I logged in later due to real life (time of seasonpass should be time played on account and at least have a tangible item only they get if buy it) I also found out lootboxes werent a thing anymore. So now we were losing tons of matches and normally we wouldn’t mind it if we were having fun because ….well, you can open up the lootboxes for enjoyment and even purchase more if you wanted to for fun. NOPE, not with OW2 . UGH . Please don’t make a paywall for any enjoyment like D4 like OW2 has now.
I don’t keep up with who bought what company or how one company does it this way while another does it that way. I loved Overwatch then I explained what took the joy out of OW2 – (add back in loot-boxes you can earn from playing AND the ability to purchase more and maybe achs that can unlock unique ones for headshots etc like other games). As a company I would hope that as you pickup your new game you would want to aim to please the fanbase to get more people buying the base game and future expansions. Do not try to please everyone even if they are an “influencer”. We know coffers need filled so we can enjoy our games and I hope the company fulfills the heart of the game is all. I saw this priced finally and if I saw it say “free” I would have steered clear because of microtransactions to death are something that makes me very sad. Just charge 50 for the game and release an expansion in a year for 60 bucks vs 3-4 season passes for 15-20 bucks. Having to constantly push out new content every month is insane and makes me feel like I didn’t buy a ready or full game. Releasing more content vs that first season pass and waiting a tad like 4 months and then do an expansion pack. Season passes just scream “game every day or waste your money”. Either way I bought the best pack for D4 but if it fails me, this will be my last bnet purchase because my childhood dreams of D4 will be shattered after waiting this long.
Also “BETA” is used for everything nowadays it seems. Beta to me is players playing through the game before its released all the way through from start to finish and exploring EVERYTHING and trying to find things that need fixed for the devs that are game breaking that cant be patched. Not a “min 2 day” SERVER LOAD TEST . Early access 4 days though, that’s a pretty cool one IMO (almost unfair though 2 days is cool, for this type of game …unless it takes forever to level and go through it all).

Is this a free game or is this pre-order/purchase just for cosmetics (site doesn’t state if its free or not to play but I read there is a free version now on the forums?)
