That gets no love from the anniversary. Left forgotten in his room.
I have a feeling they’re going to do something, but it’s more complicated than we think. I mean, they gave content to D:I which is the worst rated Diablo game of them all. I think it has to do with how D3 is so bound around set items and how they affect only specific things.
A lonely shoutout would been good. Like “Hey, for you D3 lovers out there: Peace!” as they flashed a peace sign. Instead of giving us the middle finger. ![]()
Ofcourse, the peace sign gesture would cost $9.99. $15.99 if you wanted it with both hands.
D3 is in limbo right now. It is too new for a remaster and too old to receive regular updates.
I expect Blizzard at some point will come back to this game in the future. It is probably next in line after D1
At this point, if we get anything, it will be a new pet. A miniature version of the D4 cash shop. When equipped, it won’t pick up gold or auto-salvage mats, but will constantly remind you that you do not own D4/or, if you own D4, you haven’t bought anything from the cash shop in X amount of time. When you unequip the cash shop pet, it will remind you every time you go to town that it is not equipped and say “you should really try D4!!! It is so cool!!! and visit the cash shop when you play!!! because it is even cooler!!!”.
Part of me knows you’re being facetious but the other part of me says “That sounds about right!”. I’m going to go with the latter.
I almost spat out my beer when I read your message ![]()
D3 is dead. (20 characters)
While my statement is mostly me being a smart ***, sadly, it would not shock me if it did happen.
As OP as the Necro is, still don’t think he can bring it back.
Diablo Immortal continues to be a strong revenue driver for Blizzard and NetEase, generating over $6 million in in-app purchase (IAP) revenue in February 2025 alone. Three years post-launch, the game maintains consistent monthly earnings, benefiting from a dedicated user base and continuous content updates, solidifying its position as a successful, high-earning mobile title.
Diablo Immortal is a source of continuous revenue. Diablo 3 does not do that.
I can’t imagine forking out that much money on the worst game in the series. Kilo spent his entire tax refund on playing dress up.
Fools and their money are soon parted.
The fact that D2R received a new class, a lot of QoL changes and some additional content gives me hope. D2R was just as benched and in maintenance mode as D3 is right now.
Next year it will be 15th anniversary for D3, Not a bad point in time to drop a remaster.
Well, it’s a F2P, while D3 is premium and we spent money on each expansion. Diablo 3 has generated well over 1 billion (conservatively) so really Blizzard… give us some love!
Again, why did Blizzard cancel The King of the North expansion? Why did Blizzard not release a Warlock class for Diablo 3? The answer is likely the same for both - Blizzard doesn’t think the profit is there, or it would cannibalize profits from Diablo 4, etc. It’s just basic critical thinking skills at this point…
But who knows what Blizzcon will announce. You can always hope that they announce something then, though I personally would not. But then again, I never believed Blizzard would add a new class to Diablo 2 either.
From what I gather, Warlock is too similar to Witch Doctor and Necro’s plane.
Also, the expansion was cancelled due to reasons from the original president. Here we are, 4 presidents later. Company visions can change. I really hope they do. They were on the right track by cutting some of the dead weight, still more left.
Yups. MTX. When they had to shut down the RMAH due to new fed laws, that is when they decided King of the North was dead. D3 has no current MTX, so 0.000000000000000001% chance we will Warlock DLC for D3.
