D3 is already almost a perfect ARPG for me

Just curious, except PVP, what kind of replay-ability do you have in other ARPG?

A perfect example is Path of Exile where the character abilities and skills are customizable, this allows the player to play flavors of that base class type. So for example you could be a mage or a tank or a tankmage. Also they keep expanding the world with new areas and game mechanics that add on to what they have not constantly reworking what they have. I just mentioned the tip of the ice burg for PoE.

I do not expect D4 to be PoE, but they could learn from how they manage their ARPG and get ideas that works for D4. There is also Grim Dawn and Torchlight with great ideas as well.

To sum it up I guess I am say the replay-ability is based on a dynamic world that is ever changing and allows the players to customize the way they want to play their classes. If there is no versatility or growth to the game then it will always be a one and done game .

If you look at the recent years of D3 you may notice there are change of builds. I think D3 gives enough flavors for every class, only some of them are stronger. It is also the most convenient of all the famous ARPGs to try all classes so you can actually have more different flavors.

I think the main argue is not lacking of builds but lacking of “exploration” in the builds. Read the patch notes and you know instantly whet are the new builds. Multiply the bonuses and you know what are the best builds. D3 skipped the step of thinking “what are the new build” for you. There are still something to tweak and try on each build, but less than the others.

I’m not sure what is actually better. I look myself as a “hardcore” (I don’t mean HC mode) player compared with the majority of players. Most people just copy a build online and some of them even can’t copy it right… Those depth in the game definitely have nothing to do with them. Devs’ efforts are limited. Do we want more efforts on balance or depth of game?

Also D3 actually give me a chance to try all the builds, because of the high drop rate. Other ARPG doesn’t have that high drop rate and it takes too long to gear up a character.

Dynamic world depends on if it is MMORPG. D3 didn’t expand the world (actually they added a few areas, but those seem too minor) because D3 doesn’t have constant income like PoE, and doesn’t rely on players to keep playing it for income. That’s why they make D4 a MMORPG, which I actually dislike.

You dont get it its boring to grind for just better version of item or for just 1 affix that will change almost nothing i will do 5 higher GR wow so fun. In d2 to get enigma with full open trade you needed to farm it for a long period of time not even talking about other stuff and wont even imagine to drop gg’s items like griffon per season its like comparing earth to heaven. Keep playing your amazing d3 and let others have their own opinion d3 is boring and not even close to be fun.

Sure. I never said you should consider D3 fun. Keep your opinion and I just want to point out that the opinion is from someone who doesn’t understand D3 at all.

… and this is boring and not even close to be fun for me.
