Blizzard keeps promising better feedback, and we’ve had ONE development post since January. I know Diablo III is starting to age, but it’s frustrating knowing developers could easily hop on the Diablo forums and post during quarantine, even for a half hour.
Is there only one guy (Matthew) activity working on D3? I would think with Nevalistis' departure someone would communicate with us. Am I asking too much?
They’ve probably been overwhelmed by a surge of tech support questions which is probably leaving no extra time available for them to “hang out” on the general forums. Hopefully things will change when the coronavirus finally lets it’s sickly death grip on the world go, people go back to their normal routines and are not asking so many tech support questions.
Isn’t the cycle usually a lot of activity right after BlizzCon with a lot of promises to do better up until Christmas and the crickets until the next 'Con? That’s what it has seemed like to me for the past 3 or 4 years. Now that Nev moved on, it’ll probably be worse.
The Tech Support group is separate and communicates daily.
QA never answers Bug Reports.
D4 devs won’t have anything to say until the next Quarterly Update.
D3 devs have nothing to say until the next PTR.
CM announced Double Goblins.
What kind of communication were you expecting?
Honestly, I'd expect a major company like Blizzard to keep their one of their major IPs alive with a little communication. I'd say more than a few people, fed up with the..development..of D3 might look at D4 and remember what happened in D3 and take a pass. It's a minor investment to keep a little communication open.
Pretty sure they have a lot going on, some being public news and some they probably keeping private to not get any negative backlash from the general public. But I do agree that i would love to see more communication from them on the forums.
you guys do know that D3 is officially in maintenance (cant remember the exact name) mode? this means they have a very small number of ppl still working on d3 on top off that C19 hit everyone hard maybe we should cut them some slack?
Apparently the obvious, but with blue text. (text by me, not Blizz)
-We are working on the next patch for Diablo 3 Season 21. We hope to focus on the remaining classes that have not been revised yet as well as our new Season theme. You can expect new sets and some updated Legendaries. (Just like the last few patches)
-To keep our staff safe and comply with local laws, staff have been working from home. This has been challenging for everyone but we completing content to the best of our capability. The impact of this has yet to be determined. If Season 20 is extended significantly we will post a notice.
-When the next PTR is ready we will post a notice on the front page of the D3 website.
-The next Quarterly update for D4 will be (insert estimate here - it should be mid May if they stick with every three months).
-Hope everyone is staying safe and well! Enjoy the current Season buffs!
Diablo 3 is now cared for by the Classics Team which handles several of the older games.
Team 3 (the Diablo Franchise team), is working on D4. The Incubation team is working on D:I.
only now??? there was nearly zero REAL updates since 7-8 years. a lot people laughed at necro update. this was like reskinned wd.
nearly every student can create their EPIC content for a season in 1 hour.
If we had mod support we could make our own gametypes and campaigns. It would be way better than the version of Diablo 3 we got. No new content since launch of reaper, even then what was added was what was requested since beta, meaning they have no original idea’s and it’s been left to the community to make the game somewhat decent.
If the community had the tools of creation we could have fixed D3 and made a better user experience.
correct! the same was with d2. very good mods came out. modders even provided their own servers. and even developed good anti-cheat. I then played d2 for years.
d2 classic was very bad in comparison. ridiculously small inventory and no innovations for years kill all fun.
