Closed Beta invites

Anybody who posts here or anywhere else the reasons why they should get a closed beta invite, shouldn’t get one :100:

If you haven’t played Blizzard’s games for a while, why would you even think that you would be a contender for Beta? Isn’t it way more fair to players who are currently playing Blizzard games a chance to be chosen for the Beta testing?
How would the people in charge of these things even know you would even be interested in testing if you stopped playing their games?

I frankly don’t want in the Beta… If I decide its worthy to purchase;
I want to play a released version at a time and pace of my choosing. Completely unseen and fresh.

Yeah, kinda agree. Which is why imo the beta should not have any campaign content at all. Should just be one zone in endgame. So people can test game systems, without getting campaign, and most zones, spoiled before release.

that’s the case for most people on this forum though.
you aren’t special.

i even still have every edition of diablo on my shelf , even D1 and hellfire (though the later wasn’t made by blizzard) in big box.
so what ? i don’t deserve anything simply because im a long time fan , most people on this forum are long time fan too.

And in the end , who cares about closed beta ? is it that hard to wait a few weeks / months more ?

I used to get all lit up about alpha/beta invites.

Now I understand better, you are used as an unpaid worker essentially, you gain no benefit from this , you get to play a used game on release, your feedback will be largely, if not completely ignored anyway, they pull their player opinions from others, not us peons.

Honestly it used to be fun, I beta’d Wrath back in the day and it’s been cool up until Shadowlands where I saw a meteoric shift in dev attitude towards testers and the testing process.

Best just to leave the beta try hards to run out of breath trying, enjoy a fresher game on release.

Just saying.

I like playing early stuff. Im a retired gaming editor who wrote some Prima guides on the side. Companies still invite me years later to goof around with their works-in-progess.

Testing games can be work. What we do, compared to actual testers is very different. We look for whats fun, what’s not. They look for missing textures, art, bugs, collision issues, and every boring detail. We can log out & take breaks. They get unchained from their desk for 15 minutes every 12 hours.

I have regretted playing some alpha & betas but overall I think im a better gamer in general from the experience.

I am interested in testing D4 endgame. Just because im a ranked player & think I can provide good feedback. Although i will probably pass on the single player.

But you didn’t mention playing D2 classic/D2 LoD or Diablo Immortal to endgame.

So you don’t qualify for full Diablo Standards.

Eh, truth be told, if someone gets into the closed beta, then congrats to them. If not, then it’s not the end of things nor that big of a deal.

Should I tell him I got my invite already?
