Am I the only one who thinks that diablo 2 needs a modernized option to trade?
Trading can be a part-time job currently if you don’t use 3rd party websites like jsp in order to find the items you need for your build.
I might have missed it but I don’t see any proposals of adding a trading option for your items where they can be searched for in a trading place inside the game itself.
The way I see it you should be able to search for specific items/runes and be able to take/make an offer.
If the trade is executed automatically or not doesn’t really matter to me personally as long as there is a way to look up items and list items for trade.
I don’t know how to modernize it. D3 tried an Auction house for that reason. You’re right though, trading is hell right now because everyone is on D2jsp. The blizzard forums used to be active for trade but that really died off in like 2008-2009.
However it would have to be pretty intricate because I don’t want to have to scroll through 1000’s of the same items if I want exactly X amount on a variable stat ext
Agreed trading is a wonderful part of the game and I would much rather it be something other than the meme that it “wug wug wug” “wuw wuw wuw”.
Take the GTS for pokemon for example. You are limited to one deposit at a time and you can choose your desired trade. So for example you deposit your IK armour and select that you are looking for Grizwalds armour Something nice so you can set overnight or while you run errands or whatever.
Another system I’d like something similar to is the grand exchange from runescape. While I never played this game it seems like a great feature. Only there would need to be a stable currency implemented
If you introduce currency you change the way trading works.
The bigger issue is that you must tie that currency to something, like fiat money for example.
Now if you do that you introduce a ton of other issues but you literally invite people to bot to make money.
Just pure trading item for item is what diablo needs.
The currency in trading is runes.
I don’t have the time to trade like I used too, I’m pretty sure 80% of my D2 time was spent trading and it’s going to be even more hell without a duped currency.
I like trading, I enjoyed swindling… erm bargaining with people. However its really time consuming.
I’ll end up going SSF or with friends and just go with what we get.
I don’t see why you would HAVE to tie it to something outside of battle.net but ok.
And yes runes is kinda what I was talking about. I’ve played on a server with a very stable currency system that revolved around a certain rune. And it was GREAT I hope things work out that way.
There could be something like boards with offers with contact to players in the battle net.
Also I dont know how bad is situation now but then i played on bn several years back, people normaly crated games and typer what they wanted, also there was trade channel.
Trade channels = ghost town
Afk games are hard to follow up on to complete a trade…sometimes it works out sometimes it doesn’t. Also the game description was often too short to sort out the nuiances of a trade so most people wouldn’t bother. It’s quite apparent where users will go if there isn’t something implemented.
Idk it used to be a lot better in my time when I was on battle net, could be 10 years back even more lol. There was plenty of offer or need games being created as player base was much bigger. I think with D2R, we wont have the issue with trading as there will be a lot of players playing again.
Don’t get me wrong there will always be plenty of looking for trade games but like I mentioned this system is so dated its not funny.
Like you wanna sell something but now you are in a p1 game instead of pvp/baaling and you might not get one single person interested in 12 hours inside that game. I think it calls for some kind of trade system wouldn’t you ?
Why? ah… people just have no clue why auction house was failure. I have talked about this many times. Only reason why auction house ended up bad was because blizzard forced gold as currency.
