Same here, The problem disappeared for an hour, but now I got 10017 again. (Asia, USA)
I had error code 1016 from time to time and recently changed my battle Tag.

Same issue here. Logging in from europe and get the 10017 error logging into EU region, able to log into NA and Asia without issue though.

same issue, it says unable to join game channel, you already reached the maximum amount (code 10017)

Region : Europe

Yea the problem went away and then started again. Hopefully they fix it soon.

I can’t log in to the Diablo III since yesterday unable to join says channel, you have joined the maximum number of this channel type (Code 10017)
I can’t do anything but click the “OK” button and logout to the game main
region Europe My battle tag is :- Atlantis#12940

i see this problem happened sep 2019 and was closed after the devs fixed, i am now getting as at july 2021 i see no suggested fix for it and can only assume its not client side

I had a similar problem in Asia.
Before that happened, the game sometimes became unresponsive.
Is there a way to fix it?

Same problem in EU server. It started again today.

Our Diablo 3 team is aware of the issue that was causing error 10017 and it should be cleared up now or clearing up pretty quickly. Please keep trying an feel free to post in this thread if you’re seeing any new cases of this error show up.
