So I haven’t really looked at Necromancer much lately. But I was always interested in the Siphon Blood / Blood Nova potential. For whatever reason, I didn’t notice Inarius and Bloodtide (and Iron Rose technically) all got beefed back in 2.6.5.
The two builds aren’t fair to compare I guess because Whirlwind does scale really well with Attack Speed… and this Siphon Nova setup does require standing still in the middle of enemies…
I’m not trying to hate on Necromancers. I was just messing around with my stash a little, was looking at my Necromancer stuff and realized Blood Nova had ridiculous item synergy now in 2.6.6+. Meanwhile, I’m over here looking at Barbarian items wondering where the frick our synergy is…

I just can’t stand the anticipation anymore!
Those on high say the Barb’s are going to receive the grandeur of fabulous buffs in the next patch…or the one after that…or for sure in the one after that…maybe.
Look out you Spell Casters and Corps Risers, we are coming at you…someday.
Yea, agreed, barb synergy is pretty bad right now.
Not trying to hi jack the thread, but like you, I was messing around with another class: wizard. Decided to try one of the new item - Squirt amulet with the Chant/Vyr6 build, as it starts to show up on some of the top clears. I gotta say wow, what a synergy it provides:
Cube Squirt, swap out CoE, wear Zodiac, replace Cold Blooded passive with Galvanizing Ward (60% shield on life, doubled with the bracer) to maintain the Squirt 2x buff. This change adds defense, and also turns that into offense. It’s not hard to keep up that shield so you receive no damage, and that turns into a consistent 2x DPS offense as well. Trade off was Cold Blooded, a mere 10% DPS, but can be gained with another skill (Slow time - Time warp 15%), and lost of CoE, but you gained great defense + consistent 2x DPS buff throughout the rift.
I wish to see more of this kind of synergy for other classes, especially the barbs. Throwing out Morticks right now is too little too late. Yea players might like it for the 50% DR it provides, but it doesn’t help kill mobs any faster.
