Blizzards lack of communication

I’ll be brutally honest here. I think some players simply need regular stimulation. If they do not hear from Blizzard every month, every week, whatever the timeframe is…something is clearly wrong. Maybe I’m an old fuddy duddy, but it reminds me of people who have to look at their phones at stoplights – the constant need for stimulation.

No and its sad, they should be communicating with player base a lot more. For example
e Overwtach suffer because of it a lot.

In Legion they started to have rotation per week, for example Tyrranie sucks for all melee chars, they often said they do only for the weekly chess and stop doing them the rest of the week. But it doesn’t really slow for the Key Stone Master achievement.

They communicate to their share holders, we nothing to them. But mindless sheep that buy their products no matter how bad.
That’s how I feel, i still regret buying D3.

And what do you want them to tell you?

They’ll say something when they have something to say.

You’re not entitled to every little update about what they are currently working on. They said they are working on fixing and addressing issues raised by the Alpha.

They’ll announce it when they’re ready for the next step.

None of us are owed any kind of constant back and forth about what exactly they are working on right now. They already said. “We are working on the feedback we got from the Alpha.”

That’s your update.

They don’t have to say anything else, because there is nothing else to say.

Talk about the resolution, will ultra wide monitors be supported will old graphic version ever get a resolution update so they not at a disadvantage?

Maybe they’re still working on fixing that stuff.

All of that falls under “we’re addressing the feedback we got”. They already said all they needed to say. They’re working on things.

They’ll speak about it when they have something to say. Show some patience, play some other games. It’s pointless to demand they post if they have nothing to say, and pointless for them to post just to say “we’re still working on it”.

According to several screenshots from discord when the alpha ended. The only thing missing from 3/4/5 was the lighting. Which were turned back on in said discord posts. So wherever you’re saying they weren’t finished is false.

About specific team members switching? Sure, but who cares? its irrelevant to my point. Im talking about the game being done, which i am correct. All signs point to it being finished and them just waiting to test their Bnet system and then quickly rolling into launch. Still taking bets if anyone else wants to say the game is coming out later for those who feel so confident.

I have a feeling they are going to use the june anniversary as an opportunity to launch the beta, then release Aug-Sept.

Blizzard hasn’t communicated well via any medium for any games in many years. I’d imagine they’ve had pretty strict policies around what CM’s can even post since Bashiok made his dumb comments about realID on the forums.

Even alpha/beta forums that have a lot of blue posts don’t really have much substance besides the announcements of upcoming changes that have already been decided and maybe a brief explanation if you’re lucky. Apparently for WoW they have some private/hidden forum with fewer people in it where blues interact more and possibly on certain discords. People with access to it posted on social media about how awful that was, developers were condescending and dismissive. See here: https://twitter.com/MagdalenaDK/status/1317179502242529282

Their communication is basically complete trash (apparently both publicly and privately), but I think it’s also typical of a soulless corporation where most of the people who cared left the company and started a new one. :man_shrugging:t2:

I’m going to be completely blunt here, and perhaps it’s partially due to my lack of imagination.

Apart from the items listed out in the QoL and barring any potentially disastrous alterations to basic gameplay (Charm inventory I’m looking at you), I don’t really see any really pressing posts.

I’m probably wrong, but if I were a blue, a lot of these issues and requests seem inconsequential. Which is odd because I’m a potential buyer and player as well.

To summarize, the constant “When is beta” - “rebalance X item” - “give us X” - etc. I honestly wouldn’t respond to any of them. I feel the remaster’s goals have been set, and explained incredibly well.

Like I said, could just be me, but just how much blue response can really be given before beta anyway?

I’d like to get News about development progress.

Well, if you look at the amazon thread, you should see how ridiculously long that discussion is and how it is being taken out of proportion

This forum is a medium for people to voice themselves, if a developer wants to come here and actually get viable input, a Blue response is the last thing he wants to do, I see no reason for them to interfere, and if you want to see their last responses to the community, I think some of it is on their Instagram page, someone even made a forum post on it in here

You don’t deserve a blue post with how you react to one and the developers are doing exactly what they are suppose to, working on the game, there is plenty to do until release and I know some don’t like the idea because “purists” and the like, it doesn’t mean they are adding anything, it also doesn’t mean they are not adding anything

it doesn’t seem like people here want a blue post just for some updates, because they do supply updates from time to time, people want direct updates so they could assess the changes and skew the flow of the game direction to their preferred belief of how the game should be

Go out and smell the flowers, if you can’t wait for the game I suggest looking inside and figuring out why you can’t think about anything else beside video games and the like and get some fresh air, there are other things to explore

I provided five lines of evidence including several direct quotes from Blizzard staff including the lead D2R developer Rob Gallerani that are entirely inconsistent with the notion that the game was essentially done (99% in your words)… To me, it is clear that “all signs do not put to the game being finished.”

yep and i debunked every single quote that you posted with either quotes of my own or pointed out how your quotes don’t even support your argument bud. we’ve been over this, literally 4-5 times now, you have nothing to stand on and no REAL evidence besides extremely vague quotes that dont support your argument. If you want to re-hash that debate for the fifth time, go re-read my responses to your quotes, because ill just copy-paste the same answers to debunk yours.

They probably figured out that they still print enough money without caring about the community. Why pay someone to interact with us, if that money can be put into the next quarterly balance report for your share holders?

You seem to. Nobody at Blizzard is working on COD. Period.

For clarity, how did you debunk the direct quotes from Rob Gallerani, the lead D2R developer, who knows far more than you about D2R development?

I provided you with direct quotes from two distinct interviews from Rob Gallerani that occurred post technical alpha (mid/late April and early May). Why should I think that you have more insight into the inner workings of Blizzard than the D2R lead developer? Ironically, when I previously quoted Chris Lena, the lead D2R producer who contradicted your position you claimed that it did not matter and that it was the lead D2R developer that should be listened to. The lead D2R developer invalidates your argument.

You literally have no proof the game is finished and you’re rampaging around spreading misinformation like you have inside information no one else has.

Ya gotta stop, man.

You went from toxic to apologetic to full toxic again, picking fights because you personally believe the game is done and Blizzard is holding it from us for some nebulous purpose.

Meanwhile the people working on the game have confirmed several times it’s still a work in progress and not finished.

Personally, I think it is important that misinformation does not spread. The claim that VV staff was taken away to work on CoD is not supported by the news reports. Moreover, the claim that D2R was 99% done pre-alpha is entirely inconsistent with multiple post-alpha quotes in distinct interviews by multiple Blizzard/VV D2R big shots. These include two direct quotes in separate interviews from the lead D2R developer Rob Gallerani. These quotes ae supported by additional quotes from both the lead D2R lead producer and D2R lead artist. The overwhelming evidence point to D2R not being 99% done pre-technical alpha.
