Gonna be brutally honest, this is the kind of stuff that I hate GRRM for; instead of finishing what made him famous, he milks it via cookbooks and prequels. By the time you factor in his other hobbies - his private cinema, painted miniatures, griping about American football - you realize his actual lifeblood will be perpetually left half-baked.

Similarly, I’m glad alcohol enthusiasts will have something new to drink, but… I’m ultimately left feeling spited. Was this why Diablo 3 was relegated to maintenance? So we could drink a Frost Nova?

I’d prefer a Firebomb myself…. But that skill is forgotten about let alone have a drink named after it

I don’t know about alcoholic drinks, but I immediately thought of wake-up juice from Back to the Future 3. I have to say, there are better ways to sober up after a drinking sequence than drinking more booze though.
As I see it, bartender mixes up tabasco, a thick sauce, pickle juice and some liquor and it’s a primitive version of praire oyster without the egg. I think if you are creative enough, you can come up with your own version by combining this iconic scene and present day mixology.

It is actually nice to activate Vision Quest passive with Firebomb- Pyrogeist repeatedly, but I can’t imagine any use for excess mana regeneration.
Maybe some build supposed to use Mordullu’s for heavy mana sinks but can’t figure that out yet. Could be something to do with Gruesome Feast passive as well because you can’t have too many mandatory active skills at once. Doesn’t fit in a build about Acid Cloud, Firebats or even Spirit Barrage; you need active damage buffs to thrive in those specs so you can not fit Firebomb with Locust Swarm anywhere.

Why can’t you just make good videogames?

so what has this got to do with diablo 3 general? this is such a massive cop out that we have to deal with no time spent on the games we love and instead you continue to shove transactions down our throats with no real reason why we would ever spend money on a company ever again

I always wished Carnevil worked with both Poison Darts and Firebomb… imagine fetishes lobbing firebomb!

Mordullu’s needs a damage modified on it.

I imagine that it would fill the screen with heavily flashy effects, to the point that you can not see anything to read the combat area. To add, compared to Firebomb, Darts have consistency, pierce through multiple targets without skipping over, don’t lose damage per jump and don’t jump all over the place unpredictably.
If there would be a build that doesn’t need Ring of Emptiness, a pair of Focus and Restraint would easily justify the Firebomb somewhere; just like Zunimassa, but that build never uses heavy mana sinks at all. Biggest obstacle for including another excess utility is the dependency for Locust Swarm which you can not overcome without drawbacks.

At the past few Seasons I really tried to fit the Firebomb somewhere; just, sparing slot for a damage buff than any utility always turned out to be far superior. A season or two ago, I tried heavy mana sink setups like Helltooth Firebats and Mundu SB. While you can squeeze in Firebomb somewhere on those builds, Sacrifice- PtP were always superior while pushing because it’s a multiplicative damage boost. The only other heavy mana sink I can think of is Acid Cloud and I haven’t looked too deep into it but I reckon it isn’t any different than those two.

That leaves so little for wriggling room to fit that skill into any setup; it shouldn’t be reliant on Sacrifice but Gruesome Feast and need a heavy mana sink for it to not be redundant. The only option I can think of are using Grasp of the Dead- Groping Eels with a Helltooth but that’d be a rather far fetched setup even if it fits the bill.
Perhaps it’s not meant to be a high end choice but some utility to help Zunimassa’s Set speed farm without Carnevil or Poison Dart but compliment Grasp of the Dead?

I’ll buy the book if it includes a recipe for Altar wine in non season. Cheers :wine_glass:

(If you get the notion  )
