Generate: 12 Essence per enemy hit

Slash with two summoned Scythes in front of you, dealing 150% 300% weapon damage as Physical both Ice and Poison, and push enemies together. You generate 24 Essence, and spend 0.5% of your Life per attack.

Passive: You can equip 2 weapons.

Trag’Oul’s Corroded Fang

The Cursed Scythe rune for Grim Scythe gains the effect of the Cursed Scythe rune, and now has a 100% chance to apply a curse and you deal 200% increased damage to cursed enemies.

Explainer

  • Ice : Synergy with Frostburn gloves (50% Chance to Freeze on hit)
  • Poison : Synergy with Nayr’s Black Death (Up to 600% increased Damage)
  • Ice & Poison : Synergy at 2/3 with Convention of Elements
  • Life spent : Synergy with Trag’Oul’s Avatar set (3800% increased Damage)
  • 2 scythes = 2 times regular damage (150% x 2 = 300%)
  • 2 scythes = 2 times regular Essence (12 x 2 = 24)
  • 2 scythes = 2 weapons = Lots of combinations = Lots of fun

Dual Scythes is now competitive against Cursed Scythe.

Removing this rune drops your second hand weapon, in inventory if possible, or else on the ground.

2 weapons synergy examples
Let’s say you have 1 Trag’Oul’s Corroded Fang in main hand.
In second hand, you can now have :

  • In-geom : Your skill cooldowns are reduced by 10 seconds for 15 seconds after killing an elite pack
  • Scythe of the Cycle : Your Secondary skills deal 400% additional damage while Bone Armor is active but reduce the remaining duration of Bone Armor by 4 seconds
  • Funerary Pick : Siphon Blood drains blood from 2 additional targets
  • Spear of Jairo : Your Thorns is increased by 15% for every enemy afflicted by one of your curses
  • Hack : 100% of your Thorns damage is applied on every attack
  • Doombringer : Physical skills deal 20% more damage
  • Utar’s Roar : Cold skills deal 20% more damage
  • Azurewrath : Cold skills deal 20% more damage + 25.0% Chance to Freeze on Hit
  • Wizardspike : Performing an attack has a 25% chance to hurl a Frozen Orb
  • Eun-jang-do : Attacking enemies below 20% Life freezes them for 3 seconds
  • Rimeheart : 20% chance on hit to instantly deal 10,000% weapon damage as Cold to enemies that are Frozen
  • Sun Keeper : Increases damage against elites by 30%
  • Echoing Fury : Slaying enemies engulfs the wielder into a Frenzy

You can also equip a generic 2-weapons set, like Little Rogue / The Slanderer.

Some of these combinations have the potential to move lines on builds hierarchy.

Alternative

Alternatively, make a mix between this proposal for Dual Scythes (Double Damage, Double Essence, Life spent, Two 1-h weapons) and Trag’Oul’s Corroded Fang allowing Grim Scythe to gain all its runes (Ice + Poison + Physical = great CoE synergy). That would also do the job.
