Dont think you understand. I got banned b/c I was pushing that envelope heavily against all the “I quit” BS posts, and the noobs complaining about things being to hard, and being very confrontational(which my ban was for), I mean thats how you get a straight up ban. So Im saying that if anyone was going to get “shadowbanned”, I would have been in that mix.
I think blizzard is pretty light-handed most of the time mod wise. I simply dont believe they would shadowban people. They let us all get away with more then most game company forums.
Though to be fair, I’ve never in decades have been banned on any blizzard forums up till D4. So who knows, maybe they are modding it differently.
Checked a few minutes ago and I can still post at least.
While never having had D4 registered on my account. Only a beta key.
Though the forums have been acting weird for me for a few days, got error messages about missing certificate. Thought the website was just down, but it works fine from my phone
Blizzard does not shadowban on the forums or in game. If you have a penalty, you get notified of it and the duration. Anything else would either be a bug or the lack of a license.
In the case of D4 they re-enabled the Beta key requirements mostly to stop the pro russia spam bot posting.
Exactly. Just like you said, if you get a suspension they outright tell you about it.
No offense but given things I’ve seen, I do not believe this.
He didn’t say different team, he said modding differently. Some people may be more “sensitive” or hyper-focused on new forums, especially pre-launch to weed out whistleblowers.
They don’t even have tools to shadowban in the system. It is not a thing here.
I get you have suspicions, but this one is just off base.
You mean people who were in the Closed End Game Beta under NDA? Well they do care about that, yes. Posts like that would be removed and the person penalized if they revealed info that has not been publicly released by Blizzard.
If someone is talking about released info, then they are free to do that, even if they don’t like what they have seen. Not everyone is going to like the level 1-25 experience they had. Not everyone is going to like the end game discussion that will happen later this month. As long as they can dislike it without spamming, profanity, masked profanity, direct insults, threats, etc. That is fine.
Some people seem to forgot that how you say things matters. It was not removed because someone said “I don’t like Beta and don’t think I will buy the game”. It would have been for breaking the conduct rules.
We don’t know that. Mods do not tell people every tool they have at their disposal. If they did, you’d have 1000 theory threads on how Jimmy can’t log in, etc. In 30 years of moderating, it’s actually uncommon for a forum to not have a way to do just that. Still, I do not believe it whatsoever. Again, no offense to you at all.
No, clearly that’s not what I’m referring to.
Smart mods understand that not everyone has all the soft skills that a college grad may have. It’s one thing if you’re one of those guys who feels the need to sling mud every time you reply to someone because you think everyone else is an idiot or you’re just a jaded individual but you don’t have to be all professional to get your point across in nearly any post.
