I am posting about this one more time in the hopes of getting some info on it. The other couple of threads I posted were in the wrong place apparently and have since died it seems.
The one thing I always think of when I think Diablo 2 is amazing feel of the combat. It just always felt good to swing your sword or fire your bow and all of the audio and flair added to impacts and pain/death noises were exceptionally well done.
This feels completely lost for me when D2R. It appears that the attack animations of the heroes have been sped up, yet the timing of their impacts is apparently still happening under the hood at the legacy attack animation timings. This leaves every swing of your weapon feeling like it hit nothing and you have to literally wait a slight moment for the impact and damage to occur. Completely ruins the feel of the game!
I had heard a hint that there might be some way to turn this “off” and have the attack animations line up with the legacy ones? I have not found any such option but heard two other people say something like “yeah I hated that too and then switched it off” but not sure exactly what they are meaning.
