Altar for season 29

Again, why? The power and toughness adds nothing meaningful.

I just told you. Go read.

No.

The Qol, yes, why not.
Power and toughness, no.

No, you did not give a proper reason, only an excuse.

The power from the Altar affects everything equally. So while underperforming builds become more playable, the OP builds become even more OP. The balance gap between top and bottom remains the same.

Also not all builds should be equal in power. Simple builds should be less performing than complex builds that require more skill to play.

And absolutely no build should do GR150 easily.

I did. Your validation is not needed.

With 6K paragons in season and the altar :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes. Your point is?? Really hard to find the altar outside season 28.

Simply that not all sets and players are equal.
Why ask the Altar to stay, if you’re so strong?

Strong? I goto the gym sometimes. But I wouldn’t class me as “so strong”.

Ok… Possibly the best nonsense answer of the month

I would say your question is unclear.

I’m going to have a hard time being more explicit…

Then you failed. Do better.

Read your posts and… See you

No need because I wrote them.

The altar should stay in both season and non-season. Some people appear to need all the help they can get.

I’m a horrible player, I need all the help I can get.

I’d like the Altar to stay in non season too. I fully understand the pros and cons of the matter of course. The casual players will have a boost (and a blast) the dedicated players are already so far ahead that it doesn’t really matter anyhow.
My biggest concern is that the top performing builds in a season are usually nerf hammered in the following patch, killing the fun of playing them. :frowning:

Let’s hope they stop the “balancing” after S29. To hell with all the overnerfs.

So the average person has a reasonable chance of doing a solo 150. Gr150 shouldn’t only be for the no-lifers and botters. Even with the altar, the vast majority of people who played S28 will not complete a GR150 solo.

As far as future Seasonal Themes, just activate the rotated Theme in one of the potion slots. If the Theme is a power one, put it in the random shrine slot or runic circle slot. If the Theme is utility, put it in toughness potion slot.

Why should one build be able to do GR150 and the other 41 leader board builds not? Where’s the fun in that?

All the leader board builds should be able to do GR150 in around the same time. Look at poor Rolands. The highest clear is still only 140. This issue though is not related to the Altar, but Blizz’s horrible balancing.

For me, I think the limit has been drawn with the altar. It is still going to take some grinding to get a solo GR150, but the carrot is not far enough out where the conquest becomes a full time job to achieve.

Challenge is still there even with the Altar. Most players aren’t going to achieve that solo GR150, but it is reasonably attainable if they want to put in some time and effort.

As for the no-lifers and botters, I as is most players are unconcerned that cheaters and < .01% of the player base has been reduced to a time attack. If you are designing your game around < .01% of your player base, you are alienating the vast, vast majority of your player base, which is terrible game design. And if that <.01% of the player base wants a challenge, it is there, do not play the meta, play Rolands and show how easy GR150 is with the Altar.

True. But this is not the case with the Altar as most players are still not completing a solo GR150, much less speed running GR150s. You are looking at a very small minority of the player base and saying this is the norm.

Most players do not want infinite scaling. They want a challenging game where they can at some point win. Having closure is way more important to most players and this is why S28 has been a very successful season.
