Suwong Diviner staff and Helltooth or LoD is not enough for this skill to shine. Please, it is one of the most awesome skills in the game, it should get to be used more. I still use it sometimes but it’s just not good enough. We need more Acid Cloud in our lives. Just add it onto a huge bonus for Acid Cloud to some random legendary or whatever like you usually do. Thank you.
Helltooth is just fine for the purpose; it has three times the damage multiplier of LoD, so it’s the intended choice for Acid Cloud builds. The thing is Lob Blob Bomb skill rune from the staff both considered as a pet and can inflict Area Damage% thanks to having a small amount of proc coeff. For emphasizing them both, you need Broken Promises, so you can stack Area Damage% everywhere by discarding Critical hit Chance% on the equipment.
The idea here is using Locust Swarm and Damage-over-Time of Acid Cloud as a trigger for both Broken Promises and Ring of Emptiness. You take Hwoj Wrap for slowing everything down for your pets, also you need to toss Mask of Jeram in Cube for empowering pet damage.
Although not sure, equipping Grin Reaper seems to help for bypassing the depthless cost sink of dumping Acid Cloud too because you will never have enough Mana to support it. You can try Vision Quest passive but you need Wormwood in Cube for that so you can take Firebomb- Pyrogeist. Alternatively, you can take Mordullu’s but I doubt it would help, I need further testing on it.
Because nobody uses Broken Promises, as all video game outlets write it off as a useless ring. Neither anyone show any interest to learn more about proc coefficients affecting Area Damage%, nor they have time to do so. That small ring is meant for you to remove ChC% from equipment and replace it with AD%.
They don’t randomly add stuff to see what sticks; they test it with gameplay. The learning process of player is none of the concern of developers.
Staple for LoD Sacrifice oriented build with Homunculus, I believe. At least I’m quite sure you supposed to equip Deadly Rebirth with it, since Anessazi Edge looks very crude for this build. Haven’t made it far on the experimenting but I believe the idea is more or less the same with a Broken Promises setup. No idea about the proc coefficient of different skill runes, as I have only tried with Sacrifice- Black Blood skill rune so far and it seemed to work fine for me.
I have tried pure GotD build with Deadly Rebirth and Wilken’s Reach with Helltooth Set, the result wasn’t impressive. Maybe I should have tried with BP but I don’t see how stacking AD% would help on a DoT based build. Maybe it procs Area Damage% but I wouldn’t know that without trying in-depth.
No thanks. We need a positive, resourceful and imaginative attitude to what the game has to offer since the only thing that’ll change in D3 forward is a rotation of season themes.
