A Quick Word from Blizzard

Yep I bet you are. June 6th last post about anything new.
It is not about the Franchise it is about the BOTTOM LINE - MONEY$$$$$$
D3 generates $000000000000000000000000000% except from sale of the STUPID Switch and 50% off game. To me it seems Blizzard has given up and trying to save face before they decide to pull the plug.

So i guess we can boo the game in front of them, dislike the DI game trailer over a million times, give hundreds if not thousands of responses and feedback for ideas, opinions, thoughts, and it still doesnt matter, everytime theres an interview or response we hear the generic “we hear you” “actively engaging” “word pollution” we always here. The thing is some will forget this, but i guarantee the majprity of us who truly care for this franchise wont. Remember that

Indeed. And I refuse to let this topic die until we get a real answer in this thread. Everyone looking into the forum should see how little they care.

They hear us, but we are not hearing anything.

In fact, they are listening to us a lot and getting in touch with us often. Nevalists have given her life to make herself present among us, even with all the work she has to do. I think the only complicated communication issue is that Blizzard has the practice of not speaking at all about its developing projects and Nev, like any employee (which includes many of us), is obliged to keep silent about the news.

It’s sad that we have to wait a long year for Blizzcon (four months now), but what else do we have left?

(Edit 1, 2: correcting written errors)

Lol what? When was the last time they said anything relevant to the game? I don’ mean ask, or tune in on some meaningless thread about “Your season primal” or whatnot…

This is wrong. Blizzard have kept almost entirely silent about Diablo Immortal since last November. The fact that the second and final blue post of the original Quick Word thread was dated November 29 speaks for itself.

Why the silence? Simple, it’s damage control.

The only things Blizzard has said about Diablo Immortal since then are by CEO J Allen Brack, albeit contentious issues surrounding the game and not the game itself:

  • Somehow equating the dislike of mobile games by PC / console gamers as something similar to the tribalism of Playstation vs Xbox. This is a false equivalence.
  • Something about “lessons learned” and that they didn’t articulate that they are still a PC gaming company.

You are not going to get an answer. There are two options - management makes a statement that gets cleared with legal and PR that Nev is allowed to post - or Nev comes out and says that they are not going to do it.

Nev would get fired for saying that, even if it is true. If mgt has not said anything by now, they are not going to.

The only thing you are going to hear from Nev is things on the CM level such as patches.

Then I guess this thread will never die.

I’d argue we already got the answer - silence and avoidance - both of which go against their “commitment” to “listening and engaging”.

They chose to respond to the players by burying their heads in the sand and hoping the problem goes away.

Whoever are in charge of PR are doing a fantastic job at being bad at their jobs.

This. It survived one forum migration, it’ll survive until there is an answer.

Exactly this. Either Blizzard learns to respect their customers or it goes broke for not listening us.

This thread will die for sure if they announce d4 at blizzcon.

It’s sad that this is the model of engagement/interaction they have chosen to have with their gamer base.
I can’t help but compare it to the sonic movie fiasco: (can’t link, not enough lvl)

“Look, I was with fans and so was Jeff. When the s–t hit the fan, I went over there and said, “The most important thing to do, man, is say, ‘I f–ked up,’” Miller said. “He’d already sent a tweet out an hour before I got there. He’s a good man. It was exactly the right way to handle that. The fans have a voice in this too. There’s a right way to listen.”

What a breathe of fresh air. Don’t think we’ll ever see anything even remotely close to this in these forums.

The fallout of the Diablo Immortal PR disaster would have been mitigated significantly had they shown even a short teaser trailer that simply announced the existence of Diablo 4 at last year’s event. No need for cinematic or gameplay trailer, just a quick 30 second video to say D4 is a real thing.

The fact they did not expect such a fiery reception for DI, let alone were not prepared for such, says how much they are out of sync with their audience.

The kind of damage caused is serious and potentially long lasting and showing off D4 this year may not be enough to smooth things over.

Amen, their silence says everything. The decent, integral, quality Blizzard we knew has been gone for years and years. The way this company treats their customers is like absolute sh1t, I’ve never seen a company treat their customers so bad in my whole life.

Imaging ignoring your dissatisfied customer for 8 months?!?!?! Imagine ignoring your whole dissatisfied customer base for 8 months?!
Blizzard is lucky their fans love Diablo so much, that would kill most companies and their customers aren’t gonna be there when they decide to act.

I really don’t want to have to resort to using rykker as my news source.
It is absolutely ridiculous that I have to scour the web using proxies in order to find some news in other countries because of Blizzard stating D:I was/is going to happen soon.

Silence is what is killing Acti-Blizz.
Silence and knowledge they don’t understand us, is what caused the stock price to drop through the floor.

And for the fanbase to loose their faith!

You should be careful with me, or any other public figure like streamers. We have some access to Nev, but nothing beyond that most of the time and we are bound by NDAs. Streamers like views so will be happy to speculate. I actually really LIKE Rhykker and enjoy his forays into what might happen. He is a good dude. I just take them for face value - the views of someone who does not have the inside info. He gives lots of fun pathways for thought though!

For some of us, D4 is no longer enough period. It’s too late. I didn’t quit and uninstall all Blizzard products permanently solely because of D:I. It was the proverbial straw in a lot of ways. But, it wasn’t so much D:I itself, as the way they handled it, and the extreme disrespect they showed their fanbase both at Blizzcon and in the couple months afterward that made me decide to never deal with this company again. Even if D4 comes out and is the best thing ever, I won’t play it. If it does even come out though, it will probably be a “live service” with plenty of microtransactions and loot boxes. Honestly at this point I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if they just made it a battle royale, that’s how little originality and creativity the Blizzard of today has.

So if you’ll never deal with the company again and won’t buy Diablo 4 (if it exists / when it comes out) why are you still on their forums?
