Why the higher FCR breakpoint for lightning?

So I am experimenting with gear choices for my lightning/chain lightning sorc and I find that the breakpoint at 117fcr always is what is ruining it for me wanting to go back to Nova instead.

It is always to much of a compromise where you have to sacrifice to much all res or mf for a build with self wield inf or even just crescent moon so much so that it does not feel like it is worth it. Sure I can get a 2-20-20 amulet for a bazillion jahs but the end result still feels way weaker than any nova build.

From what I understand the 117fcr is only a result of the animation of these spells needing more frames in the original game and due to the old game engine mechanics the breakpoint ended up at 117.

In this day and age with the new graphics is there really a need for this limit?

I feel like if it was at 105 like all the rest of sorc spells it would really make lightning sorc more viable and not in any way be to OP and still probably keep nova the best.

That’s the fun isn’t it. Getting a 3/10 light amulet with griffins, 35fcr spirit one fcr ring. Mage fist arachnid mesh. That will give you 120. Get to gettin. I know because I’m running a light sorc.

I don’t know if I would call it fun but yeah as you say totally doable but also totally makes no sense since all other sorc skills have the 105 breakpoint instead which gives you so much more flexibility.

i think the reason why light is 117 because the actual spell itself is long. like the light beam is long.

Imagine moaning lightning isn’t good enough lol

If they changed it for everything but Nova then sure but Im sure your whining about nova right lol

Imagine thinking a 25 year old game is perfect and that everyone who thinks anything should change is just moaning.

the skills lightning and chain lightning should be buffed not the whole tree.

should fix skills under performing before fixing skills that already work.

devs should look at skills never used and buff them before doing anything else.

we need more specs to choose from.
