In your mind either a drop rate is 1 in 2.5 million, or every monster drops a zod and there’s no reason to farm - why do you think there’s nothing in-between? if zod was 1 in 50 million you’d be making the exact same argument and crying if it was changed to what it is now.
Diablo is a game, not a job, people who have played for years have not seen things like tyrael’s might, zod, etc drop in their game
They should be higher . Ladder seasons aren’t that long and since legendaries / sets are mainly hot trash compared to putting random stones in white gear I see no problem with this.
Reasons to play PvM maybe try a new class, or a new build. Or try to build up to fight the ubers or clones. That is what I do anyway. Play to have fun. Not play (only) to farm.
They think Diablo II should be a job, instead of a doing repetitive and mind-numbing 9000 cow runs for a zod - someone could just invest that lost time in a career and have a better life
Anyone who uses Diablo II as a replacement for a purpose in life is missing the point of living, and the point of playing a video game
If everyone saw every item drop, then no one would still be playing… It the search for items that has kept people playing all these years.
I don’t play much as these days because honestly wasn’t fond of 2.4. In the 4 months I was highly active though I think I saw every unique and rune other than Tyreal’s, Mang’s Song, Zod, Sur and maybe 1 or 2 other Uniques drop.
This included 2 Ber’s, 2 Jah’s, 2 Griffons, 3 Arachnid’s Mesh and a host of other duplicates. I’m sorry but the drop rates are fine. People don’t put in nearly the runs they claim, and are just super dishonest about it.
You will see 99% of all possible drops in 3 months of active play, or a year of casual play.
Total nonsense. There might be diehard grinders indeed, but for normal players the thrill is to have fun killing monsters and feel almost unstoppable, then creating new characters once the current one is completed, and try different classes/builds/playstyles.
No it is not. Players have come back and others have bought for first time due to it being a new game and all the excitement. You can stick “Diablo” on a red monkey and it will sell too. Whoever is here playing D2 today may be a new player or a returning player after a very long hiatus (decades). Not necessarily having played D2 for 22 years.
Absolutely spot on.
The situation is so dire with the whole loot business, that only after a couple of years, 2002, 2003 maybe, D2 was a sea of bots game. Grinders and bots. Don’t let them tell you otherwise.
Blizzard have failed to grasp the essence of D2 in this remaster/remake - they sold millions of copies on the franchise and do not seem to care going forward. It is not a subscription game, so I understand it is hard to make a case for continued and large scale improvements.
I said nothing about playing for 22 years my dude.
I even quite clearly stated you can find 99% of items playing for 3 months or a year casually. That seems like a reasonable life span for an ARPG.
The thing is people aren’t asking for 10% more loot… you would barely notice 10% more loot. What they are really asking for is multiple times the current drop rate. People that play the game even semi seriously would find everything in a month with drop rates like that.
The drop rates are fine. Just kill more stuff.
I put maybe 200-250 hours into D2R total, found everything outside of maybe 4-5 drops, and multiples of most everything. If you compare that to something like Warframe I put 800 hours into that playing F2P and didn’t scratch the surface. Hell I put 1,200 hours into War Thunder and only unlocked like 1/4 of the vehicles.
D2 isn’t nearly the time sink people pretend it is. It’s just that people seem to expect to farm an Enigma/Infinity while doing nothing but farming Andy/Meph and leeching Baal runs in 2 weeks. Which is just silly.
Gotta love to see how all the botters in here try to defend their illegal income, by selling items or maybe they’re living on benefits and the only good thing in their life is to have 5+ bers within the first week non stop travincal farming compared to a 9-5 guy ¯_(ツ)_/¯ or rather both, who knows.
Me and few friends are doing mf tournaments every year. One of us two years ago found every unique with exception of crown of ages and like two low TC normal uniques, all sets and all runes, some multiple times in 1,5 month.
That sounds about right to me. Figuring I was missing 4-5 after 200-250’ish and wasn’t exactly being optimal. Would have probably taken me 500-600 if I’d kept at it if I had to guess.
