There is a video on YT that lists all of the content cut from the original game. I remember back in the day all of these companies were rushing to complete games to meet budgets etc. so lots of stuff was cut out. For example half of Act 4, guild halls, trophies, various items and quests.
The smart thing for them would have been to see what these were and implement them into the game, however they decided to instead buff/nerf a skill or two and call it a day.
Hes a worthless low testosterone soyboy freak and im not sure why he has so much clout with the d2 community when he knows so little âŠitâs embarrassing.
If people arenât bashing Blizzard for not immediately altering the meta on their first patch, theyâre trash talking MrLlama, as if heâs someone theyâre forced to watch and take advice from.
Just play the game. Not having fun? Play something else.
I know this is a bizarre concept, but generally speaking, when someone says theyâre going to do something (especially a giant corporation with all the funding and know-how in the world), people expect as much.
80% of players polled wanted changes. 70% wanted rebalancing.
Ikr imagine listening to a RMT shill who speaks about scam sites 80% of the time (âhow much FG is this worth?â) and the other 20% copying what someone else from that establishment is talking about. This guy is just hotdog water and not the good kind.
And if Blizzard/Buzzard Kills it off as unprofitable thats fine too? Yeah thats a possibility theyâve done just that with other more popular and more profitable games so donât say it canât happen!
The polls specifically said small balance changes, not meta changes, which Blizzard has done. Also Blizzard said this was a faithful remaster. Am I missing something here?
Blizzard never said that the balance changes would be small. They said balance changes were possible if the players wanted them.
Blizzard also now has said that D2R is a live service game. They also said that the game at release would be âfaithfulâ but afterwards the developers had a number of ideas that they would love to introduce if the players wanted them.
I linked a few pre-release interviews on the old forum to highlight the fact that this game longterm was unlikely to remain in its release state.
They never released the results of that poll and were just asking the question. They never made any promises. I was referring to community polls where the community wanted minor skill buffs to make them somewhat viable.
Either way it looks like Blizzard doesnât want to change the meta too much now.
If I were Blizzard, I would not change the meta now either. Introduce some changes first so that the âno/fewâ change crowd realizes that it is not the end if the world to make a change in D2R as it was not the end of tbe world when D2 changes were introduced in patches.
I suggested changing something 5% that almost no on would even recognize unless Blizzard announced it and was met with irrational zaniness. The game needs some changes irrespective of what some might say.
Pre-release there were even some who argued against optional auto-gold puckup and shared stash.
Wrong. 70% of the people who voted wanted changes big enough to shake the meta, which is why Blizz said they would do exactly that.
So you essentially have a playerbase wanting a new meta, a company claiming theyâre going to do that, and nothing happening at the end of the day.
Then why did they state it was an ongoing service and they couldnât wait to shake the meta?
Why not just leave 1.14 as a playable mode? Thatâs the obvious answer here.
Those people comprise less than 5% of the playerbase. And honestly, all they need to do is leave 1.14 as a playable mode.
Iâm genuinely perplexed why that isnât something Blizz is doing. Itâs unfair to the crowd that doesnât want any changes at all, as well as the crowd that wants a new meta.
The problem is that all of the people who jumped back into D2 after years are sick of the game already. No one is playing. Itâs such a minute portion of people who can actually stand to do the same monotony every day. And honestly, after getting everyoneâs hopes up then letting them down, even multiple meta-shaking patches in the future will not bring people back.
Realistically, this whole thing has been another nail in the Blizz coffin.
