As someone who didn’t make beta my concern is that D2:R won’t feel like D2.
Runner up is how they’re handling resolutions.

All you see is the SoJ sales but it has always been the case. I have been on servers where his happens many times . I honestly have no clue on the numbers needed but I have been on servers where he pops with no sales or a few then a hour + will go by with still no sales but he will drop. I would game hop on the same server in games just to keep the kill count increasing on said server and help to get him to pop. The numbers needed are FAR greater than sales again not sure on the number needed because it all kills on that server. I think it was added into the code because the Devs figured that at one time or another all the Soj’s would dry up but there still needed to be a way to pop him semi randomly
Duping.
My assassin looking like Shang Tsung.
Random Driver issues causing instability and crashes with the new graphical overlay.
Biggest concerns or fears.
Yeah no, Dclone is always spawned with anywhere from 75-150 Sojs, on 1 server.
Sometimes soj sales are merged together and dont show in numerical order because dclone hunters sell all 150 sojs within a few minutes.
That my barb looks like he’s ready for retirement and that the amazon retired at least 10 years ago.
And I am not talking about SoJ sales I understand how that works and how it gets displayed and I also know about the monster kills and getting a pop with out sales because I have been on servers that have popped a few times. I have also server surfed and did my share of killing to get a pop without sales.
Someone else did the sales, that allowed you to get the pop.
You did not get the pop just by killing some monsters.
this is all I am attempting to correct you on.
Once again I under stand how it works, But I am, telling you He can also be spawned with monsterkills.
You’ve said this a few times. Please cite your source.
No… he cannot… Not on official Battle.net anyways.
As Geezer said, site your source, your proof of that statement, otherwise please retract it. We’ll wait.
Biggest concerns:
If nintendo switch wont have full multiplayer support and closed/open bnet crossprogression, its only half a concern for me since i will simply not buy it then
My biggest concern is them messing things up like character designs / looks for ideological reasons and then not listening to thousands of complaints here in the forum, going so far as to locking a thread with thousands of replies on the topic.
But this is of course only a nightmare. Blizzard would never do that. NEVER.
We don’t need anything new. We need for Blizzard to not destroy the best game they’ve ever created.
no, he cannot. I have no idea what your thinking of or where on earth you got this idea… but he most certainly CAN NOT spawn by killing monsters. if u think you have seen him spawn in your game without seeing a single soj counter, that’s possible although absurdly rare. and it has to do with people selling a small group of like 15 sojs at a time rather than 120 becuase we already think the server is close to walking, and it walks, and you had lag on your end during the sending of the server message. and it was never recived due to a dropped packet, anyways it can happen that u see a walk without an soj counter but it’s VERY rare…
he CAN NOT spawn by “you killing monsters”
that’s completely BS, and whoever told you that has no idea what they are talking about.
i have farmed anni’s for over 6 years, i have sold over 100 anni’s and found 5 20/20 anni’s one being a 20/20/10
you CAN NOT spawn him by killing monsters. on closed battle.net
Games per hour restrictions, character switch restrictions, realm down, temp bans for doing MF runs too efficiently…
Definitely agree with this.
I have played D3 too much and have grown accustomed to it so transitioning backward may feel limited and therefore not take the time to reacquire a taste for D2(R) again.
This is already very likely given no couch co-op and that is a very important selling point to me.
The bad character models not being fixed, and the proposal of the stupid short ladder seasons.
Lack of external trade support (forum, search etc), short ladder seasons, bad character models.
I know that you are not talking about balance changes because you feel it would make your OP too long. But I can talk about them in a way that won’t be as long as you think. And it will also include everything else that is also my concern.
I actually believe that in time D2R will morph into a Frankenstein of D3 along with a few other odds and ins from other games like it. Along with having things that are either inspired by mods or copy and pasted directly from mods.
Where it will be way easier to gear up. You will probably see the Johnny on the Spot free respecs. Maybe even Personal Loot that actually increases the drops by up to 8xs what normally drops for a full team.
Where for the sake of balance the game is D3’ized in a lot of ways. When it is far easier to get geared up and reach level 99, which btw the extra levels after around 94 really don’t add a whole lot to the character. When that happens the classes will lose a lot of their uniqueness where the cons for choosing class x are gone. They will probably also be more like a barbie doll. Because Johnny on the Spot free respecs will mean all characters of the same class will be identical
Doing all of this and more to modernize D2 as if development never ended is the banner that they will use. Or even designing D2R the way Blizz would’ve done it if they designed it instead of Blizz North and released it in 2021. They will also remove that line in the advertisement in the shop of keeping the same classic D2 game play experience (patch 1.14d) that you remember and love.
If it morphs into that or worse I will probably not play it and may seriously think about what that means for the rest of the Diablo titles. Will they morph into some Frankenstein that will make the game worse.
In closing: What I have said above would be like the care bears getting a hold of Dark Souls and redesigning it first as a good remaster. But then because of how punishing the game is they tone it down so much that it more like a picnic than the hard game it truly is.
