Thinking if making a HOJ or Pride. Finally have a sur and lo but never had a need for Cham. Seeing how much they are. want to trade for one. If it’s cheaper than expected will buy 2. Lmk and thanks!
I think on the forums you can probably still get a Cham for around 3-5 ist range. With the price of zod going up and hitting the Lo+/10+ ist range the price for Cham has been creeping up as well.
I think that valuation is right, it’s about Vex + ist or a tiny bit more at this second
I remember many months back cham was so useless that even you offer in game nobody would want it. Cham for tal armor something like that. But then not much would want cham even tal armor price is dipping.
I feel like in the current patch the price is Cham is attached to the price of Zod, just like Sur → Ber. As the price of Zod increases as more people are finding GG eth items as well as trying to make more BOTDs, Cham price is slowly increasing as well. Plus now that people have most of the high end standard runewords, the lesser used niche ones like Pride, Doom, etc. are starting to gain popularity.
You going to be extremely disappointed if you decide to make Pride for your Zon . Infinity or Reaper always my go to for Bow Zon Or Java Zon
If you do decide to go for a Pride (maybe not for your Zon but for another char) I can trade you a Cham for 4x Ist
Cham is 4-5 Ist but with 2.4 expect that to go up. Looking at between Ohm and Lo post patch.
I got Pride on my fend zon, and it works good, her dmg is to high to be able to benefit from Reaper.
I will test it on 2.4 on 8players once again, but Pride is solid.
Price of Cham is more or less Ohm now, you need to pay it to get it fast, if you’re not in rush you may get it bit cheaper.
After getting drunk from a 3 hour lunch meeting with my CPA, it’s seems like I should invest in Cham runes now.
But after my team of advisors here I should just try making a hoj rather than pride to supplement the tesla than pride with zon. Trying out the grief, crescent moon, hoj builds to to compare for the lazy man build.
Dhrollie I’ll hit you up later for the Cham if you’re still down!
I would tend to agree with what Teemo is advising.
My bowazon has been my working project since I started playing D2R back in October. I mained hammerdin to get cost effective MFing charclacter running asap but everytime I have excess runes, I use it to buy another piece of gear for my bowazon. She’s definitely wearing the bulk of my cumulative gear wealth.
I actually asked Teemo months ago about Pride on a bowazon Merc and back then, he recommended Infinity. For awhile, I went back and forth between gunning for Infinity or Pride but ultimately went the route of Pride. Picked up a nice 7%ED sup eth GPA and rolled lvl 12 conc the first try. Hel’d it out a bit later after getting a second set of runes to craft with and got a lvl 20 conc roll along with a fairly high AR roll.
My experience can be summed up as just… meh. Underwhelming. Mostly because merc dies too easily cause his damage is poop compared to all the other standard fare A2 merc weapons. The damage boost from the lvl20 conc is nice, but I often feel like I’m protecting my merc more than my merc is protecting me. I reskilled a bit to drop a point into Valk just to have another meat shield to aid my merc. Also gave him a Cham’d Vamp Gaze and switched his Fortitude for Treachery. With the Fade proc active, merc survivability is ok. So long as it’s P3 or less. Higher player count games, he still struggles with tanking any decent amount of damage.
With conc aura + might (Merc) + fanaticism(Faith) + gear + charms, I near 7k damage with multi and most of the time, that is sufficient to clear mobs before they can really do much damage to my merc. But, sometimes, he gets stuck then swarmed. Or maybe multiple packs rush from several directions simultaneously. Or he runs up on a physical immune mob. My hammerdin and kicksin mercs wield eth reapers and almost never die. My zealot’s merc wields an Obedience and he also rarely dies. My bowazon merc dies all the time unless I stay in P1 or P2 games.
I’m probably still going to keep Pride on merc cause it rolled so well for me but knowing what I know now, I would not have gone this route. Merc fragility is a PIA. Maybe buy one for cheap to swap in every so often when I want my bowazon to hit harder just for kicks but I wouldn’t have spent the runes to roll it. Definitely would not have hel’d it to roll a second time.
Yea I feel ya on the whole things. I was primarily aiming for higher dmg but didnt really need it tbh. I hate using mercs for the most part because it feels like babysitting, but on casters like my pally i NEED insight. I tried different merc weapons, but mana always becomes an issue and I have no idea how people deal with it.
Maybe because I’ve never had an SOJ and that helps, but I cant imagine the mana regen on an SOJ being enough for me to spend a SUR vs making an insight. Especially If i dont have any problem with survivability for the most part.
I use 1 Dual Leech rare ring and Crescent moon ammy. That ended my mana leech issues
i went on a tangent but meant more for casters like hammerdins or sorcs since MAIK can only do so much while youre taking down a boss or something
On my Hammerdin, I spec’d 1 point into redemption. CTA ups my mana threshold that I have enough to last 2-3 engagements before running out. Then I flash redemption for a second and hp and mana is topped off.
Hammerdin is one of the best pally builds to take advantage of a 1 point redemption investment because of how many +skill items hammerdin builds use. A few corpses is all that’s needed to go from 0 to 100%.
