Lost ark is an MMO, not an arpg. It doesnt play like D2 at all.
I have constant “CRS”, but I find it a peaceful attribute in my old age.
Or… now follow me here…
You could go play PD2.
I mean, it’s not like D2R is adding new runewords or anything of the sort…
Nah, d2r is fine as is, there’s no need for mods. Go play d2 if you want mods.
Agree with your post, except for one part. Bliz does not believe that this is ok. This is why they removed the heart of Diablo (TCP/IP).
While I can agree that mod support should be an option, I don’t think that’s necessary to cure your boredom with the game.
It sounds like you’ve reached a point where you can clear any area with ease and have experimented with many different types of pvm builds. Have you tried pvp? Most of us long standing players have continued playing this game for years because we love the pvp aspect of the game. We don’t grind the same bosses over and over because we think it’s fun, we’re doing it to build/upgrade pvp characters with the best gear so we can better compete with others.
Pvp is the true end game of Diablo 2, give it a shot if you’ve never tried it. Maybe don’t start in public games though. Challenge some friends to a few duels and work your way up from there.
Also, I agree the 20 character limit is terrible. I got D2R 2 weeks ago and I already maxed this out with mules, we need more than 20.
Agreed, from a not so old man. Meme culture has created an army of mindless drone-parrots. I’ve never been on board with the “Just repeat everything I see on social media and follow the meta format and people will think I’m cool” mentality.
I hear this a lot. I’ve tried to get into it throughout the years. I just can’t for some reason. I’m a lifetime WoW arena player too. I love the rpg class/spec/build pvp template. Tens of thousands of arenas played many thousands of duels won and lost. So I always figured the rpg pvp style would stick at some point for d2 as well, but always fell short.
What is the main focus with pvp? Is it just the endless development of your characters gear? Building sets to counter specific builds you may face? It has to be so much more than just the actual gameplay if people still continue to get involved after all these years, I just don’t know where I went wrong with it lol.
Pvp in Diablo 2 can be rough for people just starting out with it. The reason I suggested not starting with public pvp games, is that there’s most likely going to be characters that mop the floor with you because their gear is all perfect/top tier items. This can be discouraging for new people and they may assume their skill level is low, which may be somewhat true, but the reality is that gear makes all the difference for pvp in this game - hence the endless grind for items.
It’s also possible that you haven’t found the right pvp build that works for you. Not everyone enjoys or is good at dueling with every type of character. For example, my favorite builds are usually with assassins and amazons, I’m good with hammer paladins but terrible with smiters, I’m decent with ww barbs, and I’m awful at necromancer and druid entirely.
Does PvP have a ladder ?
Does PvP have team games or solo games
Does PvP offer a gear reward?
Does PvP give you special loot/skill points?
Aka it’s not the end game it’s for ppl who suck at real pvp dude hit the nail on the head I’m just adding this
It is the end game for d2. Your grammar and sentence structure is atrocious, I can tell you’re a child and clearly have little to no experience with this game.
Btw, the answer to most of your questions is yes… and I’m not sure how you reached the conclusion that participating in d2 pvp to increase your skills would result in… sucking at PvP. You seem like a special one.
They will let you add mods, sorta. They do not make mods though so it is out of their hands. Single player lets you mod all you want. What they do not have yet is a network play option or open net. Will they at some point? I have no idea. They will not know about or care about mods that inject into the game on single player. Coders are gonna code though, Bliz cannot stop that.
So the devs do support mods, just single player mods. BrotherLaz, creator of MedianXL, has already announced he is working on an overhaul mod for D2R on these forums and reddit.
The only mods they don’t support are the ones over network, which I assume is what you mean when you mention PD2 and such. Sure, this is a bummer, but having single player mods is still something, and we don’t know what’s in store for the far future.
Unpopular? I though PC gamers were very pro mod.
I guess if the OP is specifically talking about bnet play then yeah that is going to take some heat. But I can’t imagine why anyone would be against mods and multiplayer mods similar to what D2 had.
While it is okay for Blizz to get inspired by some mods to make changes. But I don’t agree that they need to copy and paste them. This game isn’t sold as a recreation of Project Diablo 2, Path of Diablo, Median XL Sigma 2.0, nor any other mod. It is sold as a remaster of D2:LOD the original with improvements and those improvements are what is going to be added in the near future.
Haha u noob
U dont like the game so instead of waiting patiently for game u would actially play, u got to come here and demand changes
Man thats lame
Not a mod player myself but I like the concept as it keeps exploring the game potential for those who like to deviate from the starting point.
Maybe Blizzard will create conditions so that it leaves some space for modders. I guess the lack of tcp/ip limits the possibilities for anything multiplayer though.
You do know they promised us MORE modding capabilities, right? Before they htsicanned a lot of it.
Mods brought hi res long before blizz did. figured out how to deal with stash issues, had much larger stashes, and inventory, full merc gear, shapeshifter mercs in A5…the list goes on and on, from simple QoL, to crazy over the top things.
This is what kept this game alive for people like you to come and play this version.
You
are
welcome.
Technically speaking the plugY and other mods only gander single players game, and have no effect on blizzard server side, and things like project diablo 2 is like private servers…so none of these mods you mention has keep the game alive as you state.
What keeps the game alive and is actually people who played original d2 1.14D on OFFICIAL BLIZZARD SERVER, and on top of that, the Blizzard’s decision to keep the game server up to this day.
Blizzard will not support mods for d2r. Just like u wouldnt want chinese ppl to make copies of your product.
Further they dont want to split the community. Changes are coming but it will take time.
