Unlimited Stash Would Reduce Server Issues

One of the issues Blizzard mentioned about the server issues they are having is players going in/out of games quickly. Personally, I have quite a few Mules holding items (bases, gems, runes, uniques, sets, etc.) and sometimes I enter/exit games quickly to gather/put away the items I need. This causes me to enter and exit games quickly, putting stress on the servers.

IF we had unlimited stash, this wouldn’t be an issue. We would have access to all the items we need, without having to enter/exit games to access items on our mule characters.

Just some late night thoughts I wanted to share.

Things like this aren’t an issue. One extra game here or there won’t make a difference. The problem comes from creating like 30 games every 10 minutes when doing Pindle runs and stuff like that.

i am doing it frequently just like OP and a lot of people is so i think he might be right

You’re not creating more than a couple games every 10 minutes to transfer items to a mule. And if you are, you’re doing something wrong. Sure, lots of people create a new game to transfer items, but there are far more people that are now just farming and creating a hundred games every hour.

Yes, I have like 10 mules and it’s a PITA going between them logging in and out and making games with the server delays. Surely this is more server load than just giving a bigger stash, and allowing a big/infinite stash is great because you can collect sets and things.

I have been wondering myself why the stash is so small… especially when there’s so many items in the game. It really doesn’t even make sense.

No excuse. That has been happening for 20 years. Blizz knew better.

I mean they don’t necessarily know better, it’s clear from a lot of their recent foibles in D2, WoW, etc. that many of the developers don’t actually play the games they’re developing enough to know how it’s played in the real world, or certain decisions would definitely not have been made.

Many of the developers seem to have surface level interest in the game, but don’t actually spend serious time playing to know the deeper intricacies and they then make dumb surface level decisions that break the game that expert players warned them about the whole time.

I think most of their serious game developers left and now the company is full of new hires who aren’t gamers. The attention to detail isn’t there anymore.

Like if you actually played D2 you would never put a 2m timer on joining a game if you mistype the or the game you typed doesn’t exist. This basically screws everyone doing baal runs, cs runs, cow runs, etc. (the core online endgame of D2) because if you mistype the ng name after one run finishes (or the person making the games is slow and you put in the next too early) you get stuck for 2m and probably someone replaces you and you miss all subsequent runs. You can’t even use the refresh button because it doesn’t work, you have to manually click nightmare and hell mode on and off to make it refresh. Just no understanding of how the game is played in practice and what’s important. Find another solution, or don’t start the timer from a typo. Ridiculous.

it doesn’t even have to be unlimited but yes the current stash size is woefully inadequate, the need to make mules is not exactly a good thing and does induce server activity by having to create a new game each time you swap to another character.

So when you disconnect and reconect into a mule you aren’t creating a new instance of the game like pindles guys does? Well, I’ve all mules separated by names, so I can go take armor in one and weapons in other in like, 20 seconds? So what made me different than pindle runners in terms of game creations?

The fixes shouldn’t be modifying the game / player behavior.

The fixes should be running competent servers for a ~21 year old game with slightly improved graphics

Making 1000 games an hour should not be a problem. A calculator could run this game. This is on blizzard to fix

@OP:

You are intentionally advocating for more stash space, while attempting to veil it behind an obscure, complete non issue.

Hopefully, after the common sense replies are left (i can see they already have been), you will cease this. I doubt it. I predict another thread, from another mysteriously different poster.

Been through this today. And am fairly certain, you know it. Different thread, exact same topic. Expect the same replies. Though, there is those who will jump to your side.

That’s all.

I am kind of confused by your post, what are you trying to say?

Game need more stash space and more personal or shared tabs, period. Character limit with what we have is simply not enough. I already had to make second account.

Many people is muling items because of this, switching chars. All this can put more stress on servers considering its old code having issues.
