I jump in the water and buy a 16:9 Monitor. Lol
Thanks for the Fun here in the Forum… cya in Diablo!
Exactly this. Even if it was a PvM imbalance they are more concerned with, with how “small” our UW community is it shouldn’t be a problem then as they claim.
For me I’d obviously want support for it across MP and SP, but at the VERY least SP should be up to the individual.
Well, at least we tried, have fun. I pass this game until my friends convince me. This probably won’t happen as they are not interested as there are no changes to the gameplay.
LOL I got blocked from him on twitter for replying to his tweet asking why running 5120x1440 uses 35% more GPU resources than 2560x1440 windowed. I knew Blizzard devs were bad but I didn’t know they hired actual children.
Its a shadow of old company name them activision, not so much from blizzard still there.
He blocked me as well when I replied telling him I was disappointed with the decision. I saw your post and it was a polite response. What an unprofessional thing to do. Anyone who doesn’t agree with you gets blocked.
I was really hyped for the game, but at this point I cannot get excited for anything Blizzard releases, it’s such a shame. As soon as I get an official response on the matter I’m gonna refund.
Playing now and can confirm that the black bars are still there.
videos still 16:9 with 4 black bars
Actually I believe it’s even worse since it appears to be 1080p, on 1440p/32:9 it has the black bars at top as well. Really don’t understand why we can’t have nice things and 4k cinematics nowadays =(.
…again, just tilt the view slightly, and zoom slightly in – and because everything is 3d, the camera can do the tilting, so that it’s not an artifical stretch, but a undistorted render.
…exactly the same amount of surface area of the world viewed on all resolutions.
Literally no problems for balance nor visibility, and no stretching nor distortions, assuming the terrain is 3d.
…problem solved, with absolutely no downsides for anyone but people who wants their ultrawide to give them an unfair advantage.
wouldnt something like a fog of war be the solution to this problem? you can see the environment, but not the monsters withing the fog of war. also you can not target into it, it will only go as far as normal screen range when you do so. just like projectiles would be limited to it. that would not cause the unfair advantage, no problems with enemies aggro range, but people could still enjoy widescreen (at least more than with black bars)
That would be a great idea but I’m not sure that they are going to make any effort to anything other than paste black bars in the corners.
well if no support 21:9 32:9 i guess we must look for the hacked alpha on the internet if that is what blizzard wants so be it. and i won’t ever again spend money on blizzard games as they sell only lie’s they have proven that they can’t be trusted to make any games you might even find the black bars on D4 in the future
i dont think that it would be too much effort actually. i mean we can try to push that idea if you think its a good one. i havent got a horse in this race.
please fixt weapon swap glitch please blizzard
That is what is going to happen unfortunately. If they don’t include it, players will find a way.
Actually Frost, there is a difference with it since I’ve been in multiple games that have done this due to improper ultrawide support. It will indeed fill the screen, it will not create a “stretch”, however what will happen is that the viewpoint will be zoomed in so you would not see the same amount of game world as someone in a supported aspect ratio 16:9.
What will then happen is you’ll lose more information than someone playing on 16:9 on the top and bottom of your screen (meaning the item that dropped above or below your character you might miss). Additionally when you see an item or monster that is on the far left or right of your screen it would take you longer to react in the same amount of space in-between your character and the destination. Plus you’ll also have to travel farther with mouse movements making it far less efficient than a 16:9 resolution.
In theory it seems at first glance it would be a compromise, but if you actually saw the difference and experienced it you actually lose more world view than someone that just has a standard aspect ratio.
If you need an example I can provide a few screenshots of games that this occurs with to give a visual demonstration.
Has there been an official response on this yet? I’m super disappointed by the lack of ultrawide support.
Yes there was a tweet saying that they are not going to support. Just a shame that they didn’t tell us this before the preorder went up. Looks like supporting it early on was a tactic to sell more copies.
