Transmog is always perfectly acceptable for PvE, issues arise when it’s allowed in PvP. For obvious reasons, not being able to discern your opponents gear in combat is problematic.
If each player is allowed an option to disable transmog for their client, then it would alleviate that point of contention.
I agree with most above,it wouldn’t kill it for me if it was togglable and not in pvp. But also this ties into a topic that interests me of i would much rather further polish d2r keeping it core d2 first, i think a line needs to be drawn as to what is polishing and what is making it too much like d3. at a certain point why not just make a toggle for graphics for d3 to look like d2r you know.Sometimes less is more
I don’t like the term transmog, I’d call it Model/art transmuation
But I totally disagree with you point on the meaning of visuals
Lorewise items are modified visually, therefor not being able to do it is immersion breaking… your Bonesnap does look like it’s base, somebody modified it
Also, efficiency comes way before the look in the list of player priority when choosing a weapon, most Unique being trash indirectly makes there visual irrelevant by not being usable
That’s why I’m pro-transmog limited to Unique model transmutation and Unique rework
Your system grants permanent transmogrification which is an issue in pvp.
It also is frustrating if you destroy the template per use. Most people would limit themselves to endgame items since they would be annoyed to farm templates for each upgrade.
You should just not start with the words „best“ when it’s mediocre or worse
Seems like you are the one who is drunk and deflects his issues on others. That’s why it’s useless to give you additional information.
But now that we know that you are a drunken racist and known forumtroll ( that’s on you, you choose to be all this) we can go back to mostly ignore your posts
That’s Diablo 3, the game were armors would kill the wearer by guiding blows towards the neck or prevented them from using the already ridiculously unbalanced and horribly proportioned weapons in a remotely usefull way…I like the fact that D2 armors are not designed by a person who never even seen a real weapon let alone held it, by mostly by history (although they are not very historically accurate, still a lot more realistic).
However I wouldn’t mind transmogs as long as I can chose not to see them.
template: a shaped piece of metal, wood, card, plastic, or other material used as a pattern for processes such as painting, cutting out, shaping, or drilling.
Existing items are the template for the process
Man… why am I doing this… It’s like trying to teach calculus to a goldfish
Dude… you stated that if I want my vipernmagi to look like tyraels I have to destroy my tyrael to transmog 1 vipernmagi. If I find a better vipernmagi I need another tyraels…
Seriously… are you done crying for an everything free and easy game…
Nobody forces you to sacrifice your Tyrael… it’s your choice to make
Don’t want to sacrifice it… use another item
Why aren’t you crying to blizzard that you want to make enigma but also don’t lose your Jah and Ber?
And if you engage in an endgame mechanic with leveling items and then cry about it… it’s your problem
Why don’t you cry that you can’t personalize more than 3 items?
It’s also pretty telling how noob you are to choose Tyrael
First of all, pretty useless item overall, but also you cry about it being rare and not wanting to lose it… 1st) who says you need one… aren’t you using as a template on another item that you are using?
2nd) just use a damn silk of victors
It’s pretty obvious that this mechanic is designed to create not only a use but also a sink for lacklustre Unique items
Destroying the template gives an active activity to the concept rather than passively switching appearances at no cost
Only one crying is you? You want a change. I don’t need your transmog in D2R. I’m just pointing out the flaws in your idea.
But I see that you stick to insulting and throwing a tantrum. Means I’m done here, disproved your crappy idea once again and you know it. Maybe just crap test your idea before claiming it’s the “best” solution.
